A Farewell to puny Suburbans

Current giveaway: The Last Pilgrims book: ends 2/23

Well, the deed is done.
We finally caved and bought a 15 passenger van. Those little 8-seat Suburbans just don’t cut it anymore. I love driving Suburbans, but I have to face up to the fact that we are officially weirdos if we can’t properly fit into a nice mainstream SUV. Weirdos like us drive 15 passenger vans. That’s just how it’s done. Right, Mom? Dad?

We even drive the same kind and color of van. This is uncanny. I looked at your movie list and about fell off my chair.

Thanks for stopping by my blog and introducing yourself!

    Dad here,
Thought I would jump in here for all your readers.

The young lady that puts this blog up is my eldest daughter. Oldest pup to me. 15 passenger van-old news.
7 kids- just getting started. I love the picture above of my two kids and my seven grandaughters by them.

If ya’ll want ot know about raising a large family, talk to my pup’s Mom. she can tell you some stories that would make ya’ll wonder why we did it. Of course, we know why, God’s blessing. I have seven at home right now and the family seems so small it’s hard to believe that it is all of us.

We’re up in New York now-getting ready for the snow. Very far form our family. Things happen fast. God moves us all where he will and children grow up fast! Enjoy them while their young-’cause there going to come home soon with seven of their own!

    Luv,
    Dad

Hey your new van looks just like mine. I love the van now but it took me a year to get used to the idea of having a big van. We couldn’t find one we liked and finally settled for the “fleet white” with no tinted windows. In that year, or more, that it took me to give up the Suburban (ah, vanity!)our #2 son rode in a lawn chair in the cargo area every Sunday (Sundays when Dad was along was the only day we were short a seat). Now I love love love the van. I love all the room! I can fit all the kids in comfortably AND go to Sam’s Club and load up. Before, with the Suburban, let’s just say that the trips to Sam’s Club got pretty interesting when we packed all the goods in and then tried to squeeze kids and mama in. I’m sure people looked at us strangely. hee hee I love my van, no more auto vanity here. Except that I would like to put some flower stickers on my van or racing stripes or flames or something. Fleet white is a bit boring, I need something lively to go with my lively family. Although, come to think of it, all those little faces peering out of the tint-free windows are probably enough decoration, eh?

Oh, my! I love your van!! My husband and I have four children right now and our 7-passenger mini-van is packed! The back is only big enough to hold the double stroller, leaving little room for groceries and what not. We’ve been trying to decide whether to get a 12-passenger van when the next baby comes along. Every time our daughters see a big van, they say, “Look, there’s our van!”
