Born at 7:03 PM, 13 minutes after my water broke. 3 long pushes, I think. And yes, born in the little birthing pool outside on the deck. Not a swimming pool, mind you. Nice warm water.

As to names like rainbow, I had to deliver him because the midwife couldnt get a good angle. I was pulling for Moses (I have drawn him from the water). My husband wasn’t amused.

Though I did at one point think you were going to deliver on Monday (maybe if the midwives made if there before your contractions stopped?), by mid Monday afternoon I was fairly certain that your mom’s birthday would be the big day – given how much you wanted it to be so.
(And your mom does look great!)
I have enjoyed following the process of this grand event in your life. It brings back memories and encourages me to more look forward to my next expected delivery in December. Birth is a marvelous thing! Thank you very much for sharing.

About the time your son was coming into the world, my water was breaking and labor was beginning and at 4:55 AM EDT Thursday morning, my son was born! 8lbs, 9oz and 20.5in! Ah, the new adventure of raising a boy!
