Except Braxton-Hicks contractions around the clock, some of which can hurt. Just thought I’d say so since my page views are way up, but unique visitors are about the same as always. I’m not sure, but I think that means that I have 4 faithful readers who are checking every 90 seconds all day to see if I’ve started labor yet.
Does anyone want to ‘fess up?
Anyway, I can’t go into labor yet. Tomorrow is my sister’s baby shower, here at my house. And Friday we will have friends helping Hubby sand the walls. And maybe – just maybe – we will be able to texture some of the walls and ceiling Saturday. You get the idea. I need to just breath til at least Sunday.
Really, I’m hoping to go 8 days overdue. This will give Hubby another entire weekend, and land the baby’s birth right on my own sweet Mom’s birthday – along with my precious little nephew John Ryan, who was born on Mom’s birthday last year.
I still hope to live-blog as much of the labor as I can. I’m hoping that blogging will be distracting enough to help with early and mid-labor pains. After that, maybe Hubby can post frequent updates. This will be a fun record for us to have, and fun to share as well!
Speaking of keeping records, does anyone know an easy way to back up a blog? Mine has become the entirety of my long term memory, and I would really hate to lose it to a tragic Blogger moment of stupidity or incompetence.

You could permalink each of your entries and that would save them. I hope you “make it” till Sunday!
I’ll admit I’ve been checking every few hours (I don’t comment often but I’m sure I have before…havn’t I?!) Anyways maybe there’s a few more like me who come alot but don’t comment much.
Ooo. Good luck and good quick labor wishes from me.
I’ve been checking a lot more too….and I don’t comment much either. Sorry about that.
NOt quite every 90 seconds, but yes, I AM checking in a couple of times a day to be sure I don’t miss the excitement. If you manage to pull off live labor blogging you will be my new hero, seriously.
Melody,
No need to apologize. I just hope I don’t wimp out on you all in the first 45 minutes!
Hi Kim!
I check your blog at least once a day! You encourage me and brighten my day. You always have great ideas and advice too.
God bless you and your family. I can’t wait to read your baby blog!
This is the first time I have ever commented… I thought I should let you know how much I appreciate you!
Jody,
Thank you for introducing yourself!
We’re all waiting eagerly….
And I think your live blog of labor sounds great for passing the time. I mean, who doesn’t want to be brave and strong when they know dozens of people are “watching” them?
I’ll admit I’m here a bit more often, too. *g*
I love your blog! Praying for you as you wait.

Maybe this page on the signs of labour helps.
And, all the best.
