The Boy

Vision Forum Deal of the Day: save 40-90%!

The Boy and I are doing fine, and Hubby is still blissfully uploading pictures and videos – in between cooking, cleaning and cracking the proverbial whip over the older 7 children.

I feel fantastic after a long but fairly easy labor. I always feel a bit like a phony for lying about in bed when what I really want to do is run laps around the house, but I’m obediently resting while Hubby is home. I’ve learned the hard way that it’s much easier to rest now when I don’t feel like I need to, than in a week or two when I start to feel run down because I didn’t rest enough at first.

Thank you again for the outpouring of prayers and encouragement during labor! It was wonderful to have so many “visitors” that I’ve never met before, and I’m glad that so many people enjoyed being able to share in The Boy’s birth. I thought live-blogging was a fun idea (I think it was originally Hubby’s idea), but we never imagined how special it would be to so many people!

Yes, you’re wise to rest now, even though the euphoria is keeping you going. Maybe you won’t hit that dreaded crash next week if you rest up now!

No name yet, though we’ve narrowed it to two choices.

My sister is 3 days past her duedate with no signs of labor yet. She’s eager, but like me she was expecting to be late. Now that our baby is here, I can’t wait for hers to arrive!

I too can’t wait for Stephanie’s baby and to meet your baby in person. I can see how adorably handsome he is. Look forward to hearing the name too.

Congratulations! What a beautiful (big) baby! How awesome to get the minute-by-minute account. You deserve to be a “show off” if you can make it look that easy!

We were checking in with you these last few weeks waiting for labor to start and were praying when the contractions started, slowed, and picked up. I kept wanting to refresh the page to see how you were doing! We had to go out in the afternoon and when we got home your dear son was born! It was like a soap opera, in a way, being all caught up emotionally with someone we have never met! The internet is an odd place! My dd is reminded that there are other moms who have large families and give birth naturally, which is such a rare experience nowadays. Thank you for your willingness to share your experience. It was a blessing to us!

This is kind of late, but I just wanted to say I’m so happy for you. You have a boy! And he looks so gorgeous.
