Went to WalMart today with hubby and my other very pregnant sister. We walked and walked and walked, hoping that one or more of us would go into labor. After nearly 2 hours, WalMart was feeling much smaller.
No labor, but it was nice to get a little exercise in an air-conditioned environment. Also got some good buys on smoked sausage and had the oil changed in the van, so it wasn’t a wasted trip. Maybe Steph and I should go walking at a mall tomorrow. At least one of us should be fit to drive home – what would be the chances that we’d both go into labor? Then again, if we both did go into labor an hour from home, it would make a fun family story to tell in later years.

I am always over due and I have tried every trick in the book-spicey food, bumpy car rides, brisk walks, stairs.. cleaning out the basement..Nothing has worked for me so far but castor oil and that’s usually how I end up getting started. It isn’t pretty, but it does work.
I so know the feeling of those last days! I hope you get started soon!
I sometimes wonder if the frustration and feeling “so done”
with being pregnant is something God set up to give us the motivation to face labor and all that is involved much like the nesting thing.

Or maybe you could even give birth IN Wal Mart!
Surely they’d offer you a year’s supply of diapers, or something like that…
Awww, it took 3 hurricanes to coax my little guy out, he was born at the end of the third one – so I guess they really don’t come until they are good and ready
. I’m not helping, eh?
Believe it or not, my sister-in-law and I went into labor the same day. We found out when someone visiting me wandered into the hallway and found another relative visiting her a few doors down!
My niece would have been premature, though, so the doctors halted her labor. Our children ended up being born a month apart.
Well, Shannon, it would be fitting for Kim to give birth in Wal-Mart, but there’s already been a movie made with that storyline (very poorly, in my opinion).
If nothing else, the walking at least makes you feel like you’re DOING something…gosh, please don’t you and Steph go into labor together at some mall. I think you’ve got enough family stories to tell without THAT kind of drama!
