Hubby has been back to work all week, but until today he took a rather large assortment of children with him. Today is my first day with all 9 children (his 12yo sister is here for a 12 day visit).
To make it easier for me to sleep in, Hubby thoughtfully kept the kids up late last night. It worked. But that’s not all. The Boy, who complained about my caffeine consumption all day yesterday via a 45 minute eat-poop-smile-sleep cycle (11 minutes and 15 seconds of each) that made my head spin…that same Boy finally crashed at midnight and slept for 6 hours. Then Hubby put him in bed with me for a snack, but he was too tired to eat and slept another 4 hours.
Man, I love that kid.
Now, at Hubby’s advice, we will spend the afternoon at…
ALLIGATOR LAKE!
Real life had to start again sooner or later. I think I can handle it.

Sounds like you have your hands full…have fun!
Kim, you have amazing energy. I was just complaining about today’s zoo trip feeling like the Bataan Death march, but a newborn plus eight more kids–you stopped my mental whining cold. Thanks for the reality check!
Yes, it was rough. I sat in the shade, sipped my frapuccino, talked to my mom (she joined us with their 4 youngest) and waited for the baby to wake up. He didn’t.
What a hoot, but I totally understand – my youngest (so far) was born on a Tuesday and the next Saturday we were at an Easter party/egg hunt. And then that afternoon at the soccder field; those subsequent children just get taken everywhere. And the boy, well, you’ve got a lot coming. They get more attached to mommy than anything you will ever know (and I’ve enjoyed everyminute of my attached little men.) there are my snuggliest, huggliest, sweetest, kissiest little guys. I love it.
Smocklady,
That’s what I hear about boys. All our girls are “daddy’s girls.” Now I guess it’s my turn to have a little man to love and protect me like his daddy does.
