Our oldest is 13 today. To continue a tradition, here are 13 things to know about Deanna.
- She was born on her Grandpa’s 40th birthday.
- She was given her two grandmothers’ middle names.
- She could say 150 words before her first birthday.
- She knew the names and sounds of all the letters when she was 20 months old.
- She infuriates me by disappearing with a book at every opportunity, just like I did to my parents when I was her age.
- She has gorgeous hair.
- She reads really fast and remembers everything she ever read.
- She loves to swim.
- She loves snow.
- She loves babies. (She is holding her newest cousin in the photo)
- Her favorite artist is Christian Reese Lassen
- No one can decide who she looks like because she has her dad’s features and my mannerisms.
- She gives great shoulder rubs.
Give my girl a thrill: go visit her blog and wish her a Happy Birthday!

Born on her grandpa’s 40th birthday???? How old was he when you were born? What a blessing to still have grandparents for your children. My husband and I are both the youngest in our families and our parents are in heaven so our children don’t have grandparents.
Happy birthday!!!

Cindy,
My father-in-law was 20 when my husband was born, and Hubby was 20 when Deanna was born. The oldest child of an oldest child.
Hubby and I are both oldest children in our families, so our children have very young grandparents.
I love your family’s stories…imagine, being a true, biological grandparent at 40. While my oldest daughter would love to be 17 when she’s married, that will still put me quite a ways over 40 by the time she gives me a grandbaby! Amazing.
Happy Birthday, Kaitlin…

Well, I guess that is how our kids will be. Hubby and I had our 1st (we have 8 so far) when we were 23 and 24. We are both the youngest of the oldest. I feel sad for our children not having grandparents; but I know God does all things well. You are truly blest! I really enjoy reading your blog. You make me laugh! That is good for my soul!
