Chinese food the 5yo way
We have a tradition in our family: on or around their birthdays, each of the girls gets to go to work with Dad and have a birthday lunch at the restaurant of her choice.
Becca turned 5 on Saturday, and today was her birthday lunch with Dad. I just got off the phone with her. The conversation went something like this:
me: What did you have for lunch?
her: Ice cream and pudding and jello.
me: For lunch?
her: No, mom (in her you're-so-silly voice). That was dessert.
me: So what did you have for lunch?
her: Chicken fingers and french fries.
me: Oh, that sounds good. Where did you go?
her: a Chinese buffet.
Yes, she had specifically requested that her dad take her out to a Chinese buffet. For chicken fingers, fries, and jello.

Hahaha…too funny!
What a sweet Idea, and a sweet daddy.
I love traditions, the kids never forget them.
We also have that tradiition here. It makes their special day even more special!
LOL! That sounds like what my 7 yo son eats whenever we go to the Chinese buffet. He also gets cheese and croutons from the salad bar and I did get him to try an eggroll once.
Sounds like my 11 year old..we go for chinese and he gets a plate full of cottage cheese and french fries! lol
That sounds so adorable, so sweet. These are the times that she’ll remember for the rest of her life. May God truly bless her this upcoming year in so many special and wonderful ways!
