Did anyone wonder where the Carnival was today? My poll was misplaced in the change to a new template, but it seemed as though we were leaning toward Tuesday.
So, since I’m the boss of the carnival (sorry, family joke): Tuesday it will be. Get me your funny stuff by Monday. Please.

And to get you in the mood, here’s mine:

Our 6yo Natalie has a habit of finding something soft and fuzzy to rub against her upper lip while she sucks her thumb. The thumb habit is nearly broken now, but when she does suck her thumb she simply must have the soft fuzzy with it. Is my kid really weird unique or is does your do that to?
Our cat is her willing victim – he loves the attention, and he willingly parts with his soft belly hair for the privilege of sleeping with Natalie.
Cute, right? Here’s the funny part:
Last week, Natalie was sitting near me, stroking the baby’s head as he sat in my lap.
She gazed at him lovingly and said in her very sweetest voice, “Mom, his hair is so soft I just want to pull it out.
I stifled a laugh and nodded knowingly.
Isn’t motherhood great?

Too cute, thanks for the laugh!

My daughter does something similar, but for her it has to be something silky to rub with one hand while sucking the other thumb. If her kiki (blanket) is misplaced a piece of lingerie will do in a pinch!

My best friend did this!! Even as an adult. She wouldn’t suck her thumb but would always rub something soft against her upper lip/face.

Well, sometimes we say a kid is so cute we can eat him up, LOL! BTW, my oldest son used to suck on the necklines of his shirts. He would actually chew holes in them. I guess most every kid has his quirk, LOL!

My 16 month old chews on her clothes, usually the sleeves or her skirt, all of the time though it gets worse when she’s teething. Clothes that have made it down to her, third in line, without a smudge are being chewed to threads! Those are the kind of things that become fun “family trivia” in later years ;) .

In our house, it’s the left thumb for sucking and the right hand twirling her hair until she goes to sleep, and she prefers a small ponytail to twirl.

I remember when I sucked my fingers (left hand, middle and ring finger) I had to have something silky and we had this colorful monkey wit h a silky yellow ear that I loved to use or if I could not find that I rubbed my fingernail.
