Our new Potty Girl aced 3 tests!

She’s had a very good record so far, so I decided to put her to the test:

  1. Nap time in panties on Mom & Dad’s bed: A+
  2. Going potty when surrounded by company, including several other toddlers and babies: A+
  3. Nightime in panties on a real bed: A+

This girl is on a roll!

There are 2 tests left: Potty On The Go, which will take place Sunday when we go to church; and Potty During Videos, which will likely happen sometime today.

BTW, for those who sympathized with me over this, I have something to be thankful for in November: it was a one-time occurrence. Praise God!

  1. WAY TO GO!! Praise God!

When we potty trained our next hurdle was potty on the go and we had to drive three hours one way and turn around and drive right back three hours than do another u-turn and drive another hour. We toted the baby potty with us with clorox wipes and toilet paper and we were seen off the freeway with our daughter in the back going. It took so much longer than if we had put her in a pull up and gone with it….but she got an A+ and didn’t have one accident. Our families live three hours away and even now we take it with us so that way we don’t have accidents in the car!

    We will keep praying!

  2. Amanda,
Our daughter is 2 and 4 months. 6 of our 7 daughters have been trained at almost exactly this age, by no planning on our part.
One daughter was 3 1/2 or 4yo before we could rely on her to stay dry during the day.
I think anytime between 2 and 3 is very common, and each child is different. It sounds like your first 2 trained on the early side, but if your daughter isn’t showing signs of readiness you might find it far less frustrating to wait a bit.
Just my 2 cents’ worth, since you asked. 🙂

I’m thrilled for you and your “potty” girl. I’m currently working at potty training our 27 month old daughter (youngest of three). She doesn’t show very many of the readiness signs. She isn’t dry after a nap and she definetly isn’t dry in the morning. My first child (also a daughter) potty trained at 26 months. My second child (also a daughter) potty trained at 22 months. So, I guess what I’m getting at is this – how old is your daughter? Do you think it is bad that my daughter isn’t ready? I mean is she going to be four before she learns to potty? I’m expecting #4 in April. I really wish I could help her along with the whole potty thing. I would greatly appreciate your help.

  4. wow! Congratulations! My 2 1/2 son is mostly fine in underwear, but not for a whole night… impressive! 🙂 I am SO happy for you, although I am fine with diapers at night since my kiddo is fine in underwear even for outings… but yes, as you were saying, diarrhea and potty training don’t mix too well… I went though it for the first time yesterday…. yuck!

And congrats to you little one again!
