Fun physics
This Build-Your-Own Rollercoaster link sounded like fun, but I was less than impressed when I first opened the link. After waiting much too long for the applet to load, I was presented with a plain jane line drawing and a few simple controls.
I idly fiddled with it for a second and was immediately surrounded by a crowd of onlookers offering advice and begging to be next.
“More friction, Mom! Less gravity!”
“Wait - make the first hill bigger!”
“No, give it more mass!”
So maybe it’s not so bad.
I’ll let them have a turn in just a minute, I promise.

I can’t wait to share this with the kids! I managed to make mine fly off the tracks several different ways before being successful. It doesn’t look very impressive, but it is indeed fun!
I’ll have to check that out…at quiet time when my five year old is safely tucked away in her room :). Ever since I pulled up that cannibal game she has lived in mortal terror of cannibals, and Africa- because my dear hubby told her they only really lived in places like Africa and such so she would quit thinking that they were around every corner. Boy did that backlash on him :)! It would be almost funny if it wasn’t such a real fear :). As of this moment I don’t think she has a fear of heights or going fast so I’ll just enjoy this with my oldest later, heehee :).
Treasurekeeper, my kids just LOVE the cannibal game. It occupied WAY too much of our time trying to figure it out!

I did the rollercoaster - my jaw dropped in surprise when the coaster went off of the tracks with my first try. Oops.

Did you try high speed and low gravity?

My oldest daughter and I spent way too much time on it too…then hubby came in and got it on the second rty… :)…
