I just have to brag up my dad-in-law. Last week I received an unexpected package for Mother’s Day.
Can anyone guess what was in it? Would you be able to guess if I mentioned that my father-in-law knows me rather well?

  1. Aww, that was sweet. And I am so drooling over that chocolate – I wonder if there’s still time for my DH to pick me up some on his way home from work tonight…..

    What a GREAT gift!!!!!!

  3. Nice chocolate.

But I have another question: assuming that’s your kitchen tile pictured there, what color did you use for your grout? We just installed white tile in our kitchen, but used white grout and it looks AWFUL. Yours looks GREAT.

    ‘Specially under that nice chocolate!

  5. Hee hee…. It is good you have that kind of relationship with your Dad-In-Love. What I want to know is HOW LONG did it take you to eat the 2 that are missing and did you share???? =)

    Now *that’s* a thoughtful in-law!

  8. MamaK,
    Thank you, but:
Our grout is white too (or should I say *was* white?). It doesn’t look too bad yet because I just tiled the island less than 2 months ago. Honestly, I’m pretty disappointed at the sealant I used over the grout and am kicking myself for using white. Maybe it will age to a nice beige…

    Marci,
There’s an art to sharing chocolate with children: you have to share just enough so that you don’t feel like a greedy miser, but not so much that the children feel entitled and think they have a right to the chocolate stash every time you sneak a bite.
If breaking out the chocolate gets quiet hopeful looks but no clamoring stampede, then you’ve hit upon that delicate balance.
    ;)

I want to know how you stay so lovely and slim with all these men handing you chocolate all the time!

Those bars wouldn’t last a week at my house, and I *am* a miser when it comes to chocolate and my kids.
