Hi everyone - thanks for following us over from our old url to InAShoe.com! I have to admit I was a little nervous about changing urls, but we were hoping you would want to know the answer to that little question we raised:
Is she, or isn’t she?
One line or two?
Is she eating like a whole herd of livestock because she is eating for 2, or just because the weather has cooled off?
We took a little poll, and the votes were overwhelmingly in favor of pregnancy, so you won’t be surprised to know that yes, we’re expecting a new baby in July!
Now I can’t help but wonder: was The Boy the first of many sons, or just a fluke?
Who thinks this one is a boy?

YIPPEE!!! Congratulations!! And, as a mom who just had her second son this past July, I’ll tell you two boys can happen in a family of girls! So testifies my eldest boy who thought he would be one lonely only boy forever. We are now up to four daughters and two sons!!
I’ll be praying for a happy and healthy pregnancy for you and the newest blue or pink blessing on his or her way!

We were just sure we were going to get a whole load of boys around here, because my husbands paternal family tree is made up of about 90% boys. But so far only our oldest is a boy and then we got three girls in a row. We are praying for another son, and who knows, I am only 27. The girls and I could still be outnumbered. ; )
I loved the comment R.C. Sproul Jr. made in the Fathers and Sons dvd from VF about their newly adopted son and that as far as they knew Sprouls had only had one son per generation, so they went out and “bought” a second one.

Yeah, congratulations!!! I was one of the naysayers (just to be different, I thought all the positives were getting a bit boring, but I really had a hunch you were expecting
We just found out about a week ago that we are expecting our fifth at the end of June, and our boys already think we are having another boy, we have two of each so this one will be a tie breaker. Congratulations, he’s to a the boy trend, wouldn’t that be fun!
Congratulations guys, so happy for you. I agree with Stephanie and believe that you and I have switched places we are now having the girls and you are now on a boy streak. So happy for you. These two will be the farthest spaced ones aren’t they?

It’d be frugal to have a boy as then you could reuse all the boy clothes you now have, but then you also have lots of girl clothes already too. I give up, I’ll just watch and wait

By the way, I have been reading your blog & really enjoy it. You might get a kick out of this. My daughter was born the same day as your boy (6/28/06, right?). She is the only girl of three and we often call her, you got it, The Girl.
She was a late in life surprise, as her brothers were 16 and 8 when she was born (not planned to have a baby every 8 years, just happened that way)!

Oh, congratulations! I knew you had to be…being so late and all! I’m holding out for a boy. I had four girls before getting my birth son. We adopted two boys and a girl before he was born, so he is actually my third son. I would LOVE to have another baby, girl or boy, but that is in the hands of the Lord!

That’s so great, Kim! I’m thinking the boy was a fluke. That’s what we’re experiencing over here! My husband sweetly says that God knows we need more Godly women who find their fulfillment in being keepers at home. That’s why He’s sending girls, girls, and more girls our way.

To answer a few questions:
Yes, I finally had a positive test.
Yes, live-blogging labor was loads of fun and I’m praying for another labor like the last: easy enough to let me blog right up to the end.
Yes, it *was* sneaky of us to lure you all over to the new site with this announcement. It was hubby’s idea. I guess it worked, didn’t it?
Twins would frightening and wonderful! I can’t help but hope for twins, though I’m sure there would be days that I wanted to take back the wish. I’m glad it’s in God’s hands and not my own!
Our gaps between most of the children are 19 months, although there was 23 months between the last 2. This time I’m estimating 24 1/2 months, but my duedate isn’t going to be very precise and the last several children were all late.

Wow congratulations! Satistically I believe it will be a girl…. it would be sweet for the boy to have a little brother to play with but I think the odds are against it. I am so happy for you all. I cant wait to follow this pregnancy with Ya’ll.

What wonderful news! I’m thrilled for your family. Guessing boy, just because that’s what I’m guessing my current baby is. So I’ll project my suspicions onto you.
But us having another boy right now would pull our family to an even 3/3 girl/boy ratio, and since it’s kinda unlikely that you’re having sextuplets, perhaps my projection isn’t quite the same….

I got the pregnancy test on the way home that night. Actually, I received it in the mail from a friend who bought a whole lot at once. She’s pregnant so she didn’t need the rest, and sent them on to me.
