Oh, praise the Lord, for He is good
Rejoice with me. I won’t go into detail, but we just found a blessing left for us by God over a year ago - a great and unexpected blessing left by Him in a place we simply never thought to look. A very real and tangible blessing to be used for a very real and tangible purpose.
It comes at a perfect time for us. If we had found it a year ago, we wouldn’t have known what to do with it. When we found it several days ago, we were sure it was for one of very two very exciting purposes, but which? Could it possibly accomplish both? We soon learned that one possibility was no longer possible - this was not a disappointment, but a relief. Now, we think we know exactly why He provided it.
Isn’t His timing always perfect? And aren’t His gifts always perfect?
Every good gift and every perfect gift cometh down from the Father of Lights, with whom there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
James 1:17

I am happy for you. And intrigued.
So mysterious! I’m happy for you, whatever it is!
Happy for you too, but very curious!
Cheers ,Wilm
I love it when God gives us this kind of blessing!!! It sure humbles you when God goes out of His way to show you He loves you and cares for you! Thank you for sharing!
me too happy but curious…….care to elaborate???
Very mysterious and exciting!
That’s awesome! His timing is ALWAYS perfect even if you might not (or ever) understand that at the time.
those spiders sure are neat, aren’t they!!!
On an unrelated note–Kim, have you ever written about the practical logistics behind squeezing ten people into a fairly small (by American standards) house?
Hi Kim,
My daughters and I read your blog ALL the time, but have never posted.
You’ve brought us out of lurkdom for this one. Whatever it is, we are rejoicing with you!!!
And still praying you somehow get your free razor. LOL!!
We are now afraid to do the CVS/Walgreens stuff. Your story was just too real for us. he he
I rejoice with you, but it whets my appetite to know more. =)
We went to a church that used to do what they called a Faith Promise offering. You were asked to pray to the Lord and ask Him how much He wanted you to give for this. It went to missions. It was a fairly small church, but gave over $40,000 to missions way back then. Anyway, on Sunday nights you were always encouraged to share any testimonies or blessing from that week. This one young couple was getting ready to go to Israel to be missionaries. He was Jewish by birth and felt called to go there. They were dirt poor, going to school, etc. However, week after week they had wonderful testimonies of how God had provided their faith promise offering. It was WAY more than they could ever come up with by themselves. One week, they shared that they thought this would be the first week they did not have it. They wondered if God was going to give them double the next week or something. On Saturday night, she was going through things. They were getting ready to go to the field and they had to get rid of stuff, decide what to store at her Mom’s, etc. They were going through old wedding gifts that had never been opened. Their oldest son was probably 5 at this time, so they were married at least 6 years. She had gotten several glass serving bowls and they were all still in the box, unused from her wedding. She decided to get them out, decide on one to keep and get rid of the other 2. There in one of those bowls was cash in the exact amount of their faith promise. It had been sitting there at least 6 years waiting for the need. =) I have always remember and loved that story.
Jeanna,
We’ve touched on the subject a few times, but I feel like there’s not a whole lot to say: use bunk beds, and try not to accumulate too much stuff.
I suppose I could elaborate. Should I?
Yes, do elaborate!
I am quite nosey… but you can’t dangle a carrot out there like that and not expect me to try to go for it! You are good at keeping the suspense going, you have proved that in the past! I like a good mystery, riddle, puzzle, etc.!
God bless your day!
I think you should. My house is bigger than yours and we only have four kids (only four. Not many people see it that way!) but I have trouble with it. We have two kids in each bedroom, and that’s pretty crowded, especially the closet space. I can see fitting two sets of bunk beds in each bedroom, but then where do you put dressers or shelves? A tour of your house would be fun.
I started to ask if I’m being too nosy, but as a woman who live-blogged childbirth hopefully you’re not offended.
BTW, have I told you how glad I am for the electric roaster idea? I’ve been using that ever since, like my own huge crock pot. We even took it on vacation with us. We plugged it in on the balcony in the morning and our supper cooked slowly all day, while we played.
I’m curious not so much to know what the thing IS, but why it’s a secret. I’m thinking it’s farm equipment or heavy machinery of some kind and you’re waiting on a title. That’s my guess! If you decide to come out with the secret, do I get an online prize of three smileys if I got it right???
Hey, on the squeezing lots of kids thing in, not only do I want to HEAR about it, but I want to see room-by-room. This is one of those things that should be done in installments LOL!!!
Speaking of, wonder if other ladies have posted pics on this?
You have many readers. I thought you might consider sharing a solution to a problem that many folks might have. It won’t be for every dog but currently, it is saving the life of ours.
