This is me when I was really small and stupid.

My Grandmother had told me not to eat the green tomatoes.

Did I listen? No.

I thought to myself, “The only reason Grandma would say that is if the green ones were the best ones, and therefore I am missing out on something if I don’t eat the little green ones.”

So for the second time that day I bit into that obviously delicious little green one-

and regretted it.

  1. Yucky, bad? What about fried green tomatoes? Mmmmm….

  2. Kim and Deanna, I’ve just been tagged. I’m tagging both of you! If you are interested, stop by my blog (http://modernchristianhomestead) and check out the rules.

  3. When I was that age my mother told me over and over again that green tomatoes were yucky bad. They were no-no’s. She didn’t want me doing what you did… eating them. Later when the tomato plant she had nursed all spring finally got a small green tomato growing, she was thrilled. It was her first. Later in the day when she went to check on it, it was gone. She was hopping mad… she accused all four of my older brothers of doing something with it. I don’t remember this but the story goes that after she was done yelling at my brothers, I took her hand and led her to the garbage cans outside and showed her her green tomato. “Green tomato yucky!” I told her. Apparently, I picked it and threw it away because Mom had told me they were yucky. I still get grief for that one 36 years later.

I can’t stand just eating TommyToes straight out of the garden……Bluh,,,,it brings back bad memories of having to eat foods I didn’t like as a kid.

  5. LOL! How cute.
I sent you an e-mail through your site. I’m hoping it went through. 🙂

  6. Love’in it! You were so cute! What a face!

  7. Hmmm…sounds like a vaguely familiar story. Something about a garden, or some forbidden fruit, or wanting to be more wise, or something like that.

But you sure are a cutie!

  8. Don’t you hate that when something tempts you and you give in to disobedience? I hate it when I give in.

Don't just think it: say it!
