Today’s to-do list

Copied directly from the scrap of paper at my elbow:

  1. Find a stud.  Ahem.  For the dog.  She’s in heat and feeling really lonely out there in the kennel.  And everybody loves 10 or 12 little registered Golden Retriever pups now and then.
  2. Tile - The tub enclosure was finished long ago, but  just a few minutes ago I finished laying all the tile on the bathroom wall and can hardly wait to grout it and hook up the vanity again!  After this, there are just a few details to finish before we can pack up the tiling supplies and reclaim that sorely needed space.
  3. Vote - this is next, as soon as I peel my behind up from this chair.
  4. Door - I’m buying a door for the bathroom linen closet while I’m out voting.  Might as well combine errands and save gas, especially when you’re driving Moby Dick.
  5. Mail package - Birthday gifts from our children to my very young siblings, about the same ages.   I love being from a big family.  My children have aunts and uncles the same ages as themselves.
  6. Drop off chain saw -  Again, I’m combining errands.  Hubby’s getting his big manly lumberjack-sized chainsaw tuned up for the spring.  I can’t wait to watch him wield it.
  7. Make bread - whole wheat, fresh ground.  The kids will do this while I’m running errands.  This is multi-tasking at its best.
  8. Ceiling fan - replacing the ceiling fan in our bedroom has been on my list for ages, the same way the ceiling fan has been on my bedroom floor for ages.  Does anyone believe I’ll really get to it today?
  9. Produce -  I need to email some friends about the produce terminal, and email the produce terminal to find out if there’s a mailing list to keep up-to-date on prices and availability.  I want to be in-the-know.
  10. Clean up, make dinner and prepare for company.  I’m so thankful to have older children!

  1. Laying tile while you’re pregnant?! I say you’re the stud, ma’am. :-)

  2. does yor mom have a blog? :-)
    seriously!
I have a daughter getting married soon & a baby less than a year old and 5 more in between ~ meeting the needs of all the differrent ages right now is really a challenge. I would love to be able to learn from one who has been there!
I do know 1 lady who has kids fairly spread out, but to be honest - she’s kind of a hag and really lacks joy, from what I’ve seen - not someone I’d like to emulate……

Hope you really do get to that fan…..

  3. Wow! And my to do list (besides cooking meals, cleaning up, caring for the baby, and doing about 2 hours of work–the normal stuff) is to dust the living room. The end. It sounds so lame now.

  4. Moby Dick…LOL! We just found out that we are expecting child #5. That will effectively max out our minivan and our suv. If God decides to bless our family with another after this one then we have to go on a sea quest to find our Moby. Thing is… I’m not to sure how sea worthy my driving skills are.

  5. You are SO funny! Can’t wait for ‘older children’, too. (Hoping for the days when things stay cleaner longer.) Mine are getting there and are very helpful at 9y, 7y and 4y. Lord bless your family, Leinani
