Sign the petition!

I posted not long ago about the atrocities within the California public school system, and why the rest of the nation needs to be concerned. Now California has given us more concerns about education.

You’ve probably heard by now about the California assault upon homeschooling.  You can read the court opinion here.  This is so serious that HSLDA has changed the front page of their website to send visitors directly to the online petition to request depublishing of the case.

Anyone and everyone is invited to sign.  You do not need to be an HSLDA member or even a homeschooler.  You just need to believe that parents should have the right to choose who will educate their children - in California, and everywhere else.

  5. Hi Kim,
Thanks for bringing this up. I live in California and, sadly, this issue has come up before. However, people have and continue to voice their opinion regarding how and where their children should be educated. On a more positive note, the state superintendent and even Governor Schwarzenegger have voiced their concerns and have stood up for homeschooling and the parents rigth to choose so to speak. It probably also helps that a lot of students are involved in charter schools where a lot of schooling is done at home. Schwarzenegger has even gone as far to say he will pass legislation protecting the right to homeschool if this garbage continues. There is so much more to say, but this post is getting long. But we need to continue fighting.
