My new friend
Well, Hubby, the kids and I spent much of last weekend with a blogger and her husband. They came from out of town for a Vision Forum event and we had a grand time getting to know each other. We agreed that our husbands are far too much alike, and the four of us shared greasy food and dark secrets from our past, quoting movies that we would never watch now but did watch back then. We pondered how often drunk pedestrians fall into the San Antonio Riverwalk and whether they are ever “accidentally” bumped. We also wondered on their behalf just how deep the water in the Riverwalk is. Not very deep, I say, since the city of San Antonio empties it once/year and convinces residents that shoveling the duck muck is a privilege and a party. Really. At least, so I hear. I’ve never been to that particular party.
Are you wondering why I haven’t named names? It’s because I don’t have any pictures, and I’m waiting for her to post her photos. You know who you are. You ate exotic animals while you were in town. Are you holding out on me? Do I have to come up there and get those pictures myself? Because so help me, I will… in two weeks…start counting!
update: my subtle hint worked. She posted.

Okay, OKAY already!
I’ll come clean…and get you some photos up this weekend!
Rattlesnake? Armadillo? Possum Stew? Oh, I know, Tacos de Ojo! ‘Fess up, what on earth exotic animal did y’all eat?
Hi MotherHen. It was alligator. Although…rattlesnake is intriguing to me as well. Definitely not possum or armadillo, though. Yuck. Not sure where my finicky-ness with all this is coming from, but then again I have never been known to be short of opinions, so I probably just come by it naturally!
And what are tacos de ojo???
Tacos = I think ya know this word
de = of
ojo = eyeballs, usually goat
Bon Apetit!
I had the privilege of “meeting” Karen when she commented on my blog….she’s from WA and so am I!!! It sure would be fun if the three of us could get together when you come to Portland……I’m only an hour south of Portland!!
I’m so glad your pregnancy is going so well, you are truly a blessed mother!!!!
Maybe if I ever see you face to face again, some of your blessing will rub off on me!!! lol!!!!! I’m teasing! I’m plenty blessed as it is!!
Take care!!
Leanne in Longview!!!
Leanne, I’m going to assume you meant you are an hour NORTH of Portland!
(It seems to be the only possible way if you’re from WA!)
It WOULD be great to meet up.
Kimmmm?
Kim, Thanks for sharing the link to your friend’s blog. It is always fun to “meet” new people online. I saw the picture of you at Karen’s blog and I just have to tell you how totally wonderful you look as a pregnant mommy!
Have a wonderful day,
Sarah
Leanne,
I would love to get together with you and several other friends I’ve met through blogging. Let’s start planning!
How fun ladies! I loved the pics on Karen’t blog, looks like you had a great time at vision forum. I thought they were cockroaches you all were eating… guess I was wrong:-) thank goodness!
I actually asked someone on the Riverwalk those questions. It is about 3 feet deep and drunk people fall in quite frequently! As too how often they are pushed, hmmmm, that is something fun to ponder!
OH by the way, the couple that visited church two Sundays ago mentioned you all to us this past Sunday. They enjoyed meeting you. :o)
MamaArcher,
I really enjoyed meeting them, too. They had an amazing story to tell!
Tell them hello for me.
You asked about drunks falling in? And received a knowledgeable answer?
Too funny!
It was great to see the pictures of you all together. Karen is a treasure isn’t she!
