Our redneck pool

Yep you read right. This…

…is our red-neck-pool. We have no pool, we live in south Texas, and we do have a BIG wheelbarrow, hence our wheelbarrow= our red-neck-pool. :)

  1. Nice. I like it! Growing up our first “swimming pool” was a metal horse tank. My brothers and I would make whirlpools and I would scrape so much skin off my knees! :(

    Brings back memories! :)

  2. I don’t think it’s redneck, I think it’s VIP only! Great way to stay cool.

  3. Classic!

  4. It works and it’s quirky. Tell your mom she’s been tagged to share 5 more quirky things. :)

  5. Necessity is the mother of invention. So is being the daughter of a Frugal Hack. =)

  6. Great idea for keeping cool! We bought the biggest blow-up kiddie pool we could find last summer just for splashing and keeping cool. Does your family use a Slip-n-Slide? My son has one and it looks so much fun that I can’t resist trying it (even though the instructions say it is NOT for grown-ups!)

  7. : ) We have a real pool but no well with which to fill it! So, until we do, we have a similar redneck pool to yours. It’s a rubbermaid tub : ) Works great keeping hot little boys occupied in the hot Texas heat! They love it!

    love,

  9. I went on a mission trip to El Paso this summer, and our “pool” was a horse trough…with no horses in sight! I like your redneck pool. :)

  10. I like your ‘redneck pool’! It actually looks quite refreshing…makes me wanna take a dip too! ha ha!

  11. It’s cute! I love the pictures taken on your deck — the area you live in is just gorgeous.

Here in northeastern ND, we had 1/2 of snow Saturday morning and it still gets below 35 degrees most nights. No swimming for a while here. (By the way, it’s been unseasonably cool.) I’m a bit jealous! Until, that is, I remember the pictures from last summer of all the daddy longlegs.

    Have a blessed week!

  12. That’s great! :) It beats sitting in the lawn, waiting for the sprinkler to catch you!

  13. That’s so cool! What a great way to keep cool. It looks like something my brothers and i might come up with. lol.

  14. Wow…what I wouldn’t give for weather just to grow my garden, let alone weather for the kids to splash around in!

    ;-)

  15. Miss you all……Love the red-neck-pool:)

It’s about the only pool I can’t drown in;)
