Just for the record, I was not naked

You may have picked up on the fact that the females in our house wear mostly skirts and dresses, most of the time.  Apparently The Boy has picked up on this too.

Yesterday I wore a pair of shorts, thinking I might get my legs wet in the kids’ pool to cool off during the heat of the day.  They were long shorts, but they didn’t reach my ankles or mid-calves like my skirts do.

The Boy took one look at me and pointed and laughed.  “Mommy naked! Naked!”

I tried to convince him otherwise, but he just wasn’t buying my story.  Maybe I should have left well enough alone.

On another note, I am cute.  I am also darling, precious, and just the cutest thing ever. I know this because no less than 15 strangers told me this when I went grocery shopping a few days ago.

I think it may have been my outfit so I had my daughter take pictures to preserve my Day of Cuteness.  She generously offered to Photoshop out my belly button but I declined just in case my belly button was the true source of cuteness.

  1. You’re VERY cute, for a fat girl.

And now anyone who missed that post of yours will think I’m a real jerk. I guess that sentence sounds much better when it’s whispered in your ear by your husband while he snuggles with you, rather than typed in comments by a woman you’ve never met.

You do look really good, and the belly definitely makes the outfit.

  2. You are cute! The belly button certainly helps, but the outfit and the belly go well together.

  3. Yes Kim you are cute but you are always cute! Oh I finally put up my post on 6 Quirky things about me.

  4. You do look darling, Kim! You make pregnancy look great! Blessings!

  5. Skirts are awesome! I should wear them more often. I used to wear them all the time…and stopped.

You look beautiful, and definitely nowhere near old enough for that to be your ninth baby! I love the outfit.

  6. Your son sounds just like mine! I had on a sleeveless shirt and shorts after we got back from the pool last week, and he kept rubbing my shoulders and saying, “Momma nakey, Momma nakey!”

And you look awesome for almost mid-30 weeks, right?

  7. you are to stinking cute :) i look like that about day 7 of pregnancy…so really this post is written out of jealousy.

and for the record, i do love the belly button. ADORABLE. flaunt that belly, chica :)

  8. Yes, you are definately cute. :)

That is so funny about your son! My 5 yo has the same idea–anything less than a long skirt and full sleeves is “naked”. He used to yell “Hey mom, why are those girls naked?!” until I had a talk with him about innapropriate comments.

  9. See? It’s not just me that thinks you are so suited for pregnancy. You always look good, but pregnancy just brings out the best in you. Good thing, huh? Otherwise you’d spend alot of time looking not-so-hot. ;)

  10. Yep, definitely cute. I wish I had looked that good while I was pregnant. Alas, I did not. Ugh. But you make pregnancy look great!

  11. Looking at you makes me wish I was pregnant :) You are one of the cutest pregnant women I have ever met!

  12. Kim- you look great!!!! I can only dream of looking cute during pregnancy, those days are long gone I am afraid, but I know I will look much better when I have more of the pregnancy “glow” in my cheeks rather than looking and feeling “green”. This first trimester stuff is hard but worth it. :o)

  13. You look gorgeous! I wish I could look as great as you pregnant, but I usually end up looking more like a whale than anything else! ;) lol

How far along are you now?

  14. You are SO cute! I am in my 30th week & I must look like a bear, because all anyone said to me at Target today was “Excuse me!” edged with a sympathetic smile.

  15. For the record …I think you are the prettiest girl in the world.

    Pregnant or not!

    Love ya.

  16. You look wonderful!! I love the story about the pool and the shorts. Our children really do pick up on how we dress - even when they are little.

Praying for a safe and healthy delivery.

    Blessings,
    ~Martie

  17. You are definitely adorable in that outfit, and I’ll bet your countenance matches!
    Blessings, Dawn

  18. I think you are beautiful! Thank you for posting while pregnant…you glow and carry well! And yes, the outfit is cute too.

  19. That outfit is super-cute on you.

My 20-month-old’s frequent embarrassing comment (sometimes in public) is “Mama tooted! Mama tooted!” when I did NOT toot, thank you very much–he just likes to say it. ::blush::

  20. You are sooo cute! What a blessing to have strangers say that to you too! But those of us who have met you think so too! Super sweet too.

  21. That is a very cute outfit :) You are looking great Kim, when are you due again? I can never keep everyone straight, I have so many pregnant friends. Love those babies and their fun comments! Boys!

  22. When my now 13 year old was about 5 she came running to me yelling that a naked man was walking down our suburban street. I was quite amazed and quickly went to the window to see what they were watching. Only to find the naked man…. was only without a shirt.

  23. You look so cute it makes me miss being pregnant, and my second is only 8 weeks old!

  24. Jeana,
Trust me: I feel fat in my third trimester, even though I know it’s not a weight issue. There’s just something about not being able to look down and see my own feet…

    For those who asked:
I am a few days shy of 35 weeks now; when the photo was taken I was a little shy of 34 weeks.

My duedate is June 28th, which also The Boy’s birthday, my mom’s birthday and my almost-3yo nephew’s birthday. It’s a popular date, though I’ve only delivered on my duedate once before. I’m not holding my breath for this one!

  25. So much for your conscience speaking in a still, quiet voice! ;)

  26. The outfit is adorable and you look great! Funny story!

  27. 34 weeks! Wow! How do you manage not too gain too much weight? I guess having so many little ones to care for must help, but still!

    You’re my hero! :D

  28. Hoooo…

    I agree with everyone!

Happy and blessed is what you look like too….

    My birthday is June 27th….

I’d sure like to have a baby on my birthday some year…that would be fun! LOL!

    you look mah-velous, dah-ling!

  29. That’s hilarious! Before I read the post, I looked at your picture and said, “She’s cute, and you can even see her belly button!”

  30. you do look really cute, the outfit is very nice too…I always had trouble feeling cute while pregnant, but I am short and there is no place for a baby on me!

  31. LOL Gotta be the belly button!

  32. That outfit is beautiful.
Where did you get the sweater and skirt??? :) Inquiring Preggo. :)

  33. [...] 2.  a long skirt, because we all know what happens when I wear shorts. [...]
