A Rabbit And A Turtle

Posted by: Lydia mae

This is Blue.

Kaitlyn and I bought him Wednesday (18th), and he is four months old and he will be ready to breed soon.
We named him Blue (obviously) because he is blue.
He is a Holland lop rabbit, and he is still adjusting to his new home.
After I breed him I will post a picture of my female rabbit Sophie and the babies.

I went to work with my Dad (Pc3) the next day. We were on a small bridge and all of a sudden Dad stopped the car.  He told Deanna to get out of the car and get a turtle that was resting on the bridge, so she hopped out and carelessly grabbed it up she carefully picked it up and was being especially careful about the way she held it because she didn’t want to get bit (well who does).  We put it in a crate in the back of the van.  We brought it to work with us, and when it was time to come home we put the crate back in the van.
When we got home we set the crate on our deck and left it for the night.  The next morning we took this picture and then we let it go.

The turtle in the picture is probably a cooter.  A friend who used to own a pet shop told us.

  1. I’m surprised you didn’t title this post, “The tortoise and the hare”!

  2. Your Blue is very cute! I once had a rabbit a lot like him - I named him “Thumper” off of the rabbit in the cartoon Bambi. Yeah, creative, I know! :p

I also had turtles growing up. We kept them in an old horse tank that was so full of sand we never knew if it had a bottom or not! :)

  3. But my turtles were box turtles. That one looks like he needs water! I just wanted to add that you probably did the right thing letting him go. :)
