I was trying to have a water birth with one of my labors.....the water wasn't warm enough so the midwife had turned on all the burners on the stove to heat up pots of water. Of all the things I didn't clean when I was nesting was of course the burner pans. They were smoking and all of the smoke detectors in the house were going off.
