Her name

You all are great at puzzles!  Many people found the answer, but I’ll make it easy for those like me, who don’t want to place undue strain on an already strained brain.

The two final possibilities for a first name were Hannah and Bethany.

The two final possibilities for a middle name were Grace and Joy, though some of us toyed with the idea of Hope as well.  Mercy, Peace and Patience were also high on the list, at least for me.

My favorite strictly for sound and rhythm was Hannah Grace, but we ruled it out partly because the meaning was rather redundant.  At least one astute reader figured this out too.

The clues to the final choice were found in the pictures tags and titles on this post; several readers caught this as well.

We were so torn between lovely choices that in the end I simply bowed out of the decision; I was delighted with any of the possibilities that remained.  The children all clamored for their favorites, and hubby called out to the midwife, who was waiting patiently with her pen poised over the birth certificate form:

Bethany Grace.

    Yay! I was one of the first to begin suggesting names and one of my suggestions was Bethany. Little Bethany Grace is as lovely as her name.

    Bethany Grace is a gorgeous name, for a gorgeous baby. Many congratulations! Bethany was one of my top choices for my baby girl….but we ended up naming her Annika Elyse. Maybe we’ll have a Bethany someday.
    I love the picture of Bethany with her big sis also….what a precious moment to capture. I’m sure Bethany has no shortage of willing arms to hold her!

    Though I must add, as a Hannah Grace myself, I like to think that my parents named me that as a reflection of the “grace upon grace” which God has poured out on us through Christ (see John 1:16). :)

    She’s so beautiful! And so is the daughter of yours holding her…I’m in awe over your daughters face, the one holding her the baby too, but more the other one. I love the name Grace of course that’s what my name means…Hannah was okay too, but I love the Bethany Grace.

    Bethany Grace fits her so perfectly. It’s a beautiful, feminine name, and I’m sure it’s fraught with meaning too.

    When I saw the picture of her on one of your daughters, I got all teary eyed! THAT is a beautiful picture, spiritually and for real.
