From the mailbag: blogs for Dad?

Vision Forum Deal of the Day: save 40-90%!

I received this question from a reader, and was hoping that you all could offer some suggestions:

Hi Kim.  I am a fairly new blog reader, and I really enjoy reading the goings-on of your family!  I have a quick question for you- my husband is looking for some blogs, like yours, but written by fathers.  We live in an area where we don’t have a ton of fellowship with people of like conviction, and I receive a lot of encouragement reading blogs written by moms who are seeking to raise their kids for the Lord, homeschooling, etc (not necc. quiverful, though).  My husband asked me to find him a few similar blogs, but he would prefer to read something written from a dad’s perspective.  Any helpful sites?  (We read Doug Phillip’s blog.)

Which blogs would you recommend?  Wives, feel free to toot your husband’s horn if he has a blog that fits this description.

    Gday Kim.
I have been a keen reader of your blog for quite some time, but have always felt shy to comment, as you have so many others who make such great and valid comments!

Anyways, I read this, and thought that I should add my hubby’s blog, which is specifically aimed at encouraging men to grow in the Lord, especially in the area of being a husband and father. His site is:
    http://his-wrath-is-satisfied.blogspot.com/

I try to add stuff once a week, but the majority it all about men and their walk with the Lord and the practical outworking of their faith in daily life. I pray, and this is my husbands prayer and purpose, that it would encourage others who need it!

Blessings to you and your precious family. I look forward to continue reading your wonderful blog!

    Here’s another good one:

    This is James McDonald’s website.
I heartily also recommend Steve Maxwell. Sign up for their Mom’s and Dad’s corner (it comes together) on the Titus2 website. Very thought provoking and helpful.
    Blessings,
    Jill J

My man does happen to have a blog…*ahem* he is pretty awesome if I do say so.
He’s in Iraq right now, so his blog is filled with lots of Iraq stuff…awesome reads, and great pics. When he gets home, he’ll be blogging tons more about our convictions (hs’ing, qf, modesty)

    Pascale,
Families that describe themselves as quiverfull are resolved to joyfully accept as many or as few children as God sends, without any sort of “family planning” on their part (i.e. no birth control).
I posted about being quiverfull, and my husband has been working sporadically on a post which describes how we arrived at the position.

Thank you so much for your answer, Kim, I can’t wait to read all of this! :D

oops, Kim, I made a type on my link for Paul and Bethany Vaughn. The “N” doesn’t always work on my keyboard. Sorry.

    It should read http://www.vaughnshire.com
    It’s Paul and Bethany Vaughn.

    I 3rd (as in ‘second’…. Robert’s Rules in use from 4-H ) the Maxwells “Titus2″ blog also.

    There is also
http://www.WissmanFamily.com (hope that’s the right address) The whole family contributes to the website.(mainly the older daughters) I am not sure if the dad writes on it, but I enjoy reading their blog.

    Or http://www.SewChic.blogspot.com
This is a neat sewing and family blog. (Similar to “marie-madeline studio”)

What is the MangoTimes? It sounds good, or maybe it’s just because I like the smell of the fruit? I want to check it out.

http://www.jordanniednagel.com is written by a newly-wed man whose firstborn son was just born about a week ago. I found his blog/website through searching for Brad Voeller’s book, “Accelerated Distance Learning”
Jordan Niednagel’s sister-in-law is one of the Voeller sisters.
You might have heard of the Voeller’s healthy eating cookbook.

    Elizabeth-
