Giveaway of the week

update:this drawing has ended. Watch for the winner to be announced on Friday and another drawing on Monday.

Don’t hold me to this, but I’d like to start doing a weekly giveaway.  I’m going to kick it off with the obvious choice:

Remember I posted about it here?  There was a free download of a full track, so check it out if  you missed it.  And my friend Mother Hen has another full track that you won’t find anywhere else on the web.

Now you can enter a drawing to win the full album!

TO ENTER:

Just go to the Vision Forum website and look at the list of 100 animals included in this fun new album.  Then come back and tell me which one you’d most like to hear.

On Friday, I’ll announce a winner who will receive the album for free - but to make it even more fun, I’ll post another free download of the most-picked animal from the entries.  That way, everyone’s a winner!

free download:

And now, here’s one more to whet your appetite: one of my favorite zoo exhibits, the hippo.  Not many animals can balance cute, dangerous and disgusting as well as the hippo.

Now, can you hear the TV announcer’s voice?

but wait! there’s more!

Remember my friend Mother Hen?  Go see what she has for you this week. Hint: it will go very nicely with what you found here.  And the comments on her post are sure to be a hoot!

  1. When we used to go to the Oregon Zoo, our favourite exhibit was always the lorikeets, because they would let you feed them bits of apple. I think the lorikeet audio would be a neat one to hear.

  2. I would love to listen to the monkey one! I couldn’t find a list of 100 animals so I am just saying which are my favorites.

  3. We love Jonathan Park!

  4. I’d have to say the crested screamer. It might sound a bit like our house some days (we have 3 girls under 5), but it would be interesting to compare!

  5. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to win this Give away! When I clicked on your link though i could not figure out where the list was for all the kinds of animals. We have 6 kiddos who have been wanting this set!!!

    Thanks!!

  6. We would have to say our favorite would be the Komodo Dragon!!

  7. do you know how hard it is to choose just 1 from that list of 100? :)
we have agreed (well mostly) on the gecko. We have just recently moved to southwest florida and have little geckos that appear outside near the porch light at night. they’re so cute. it would be fun to learn more about them.

  8. I put my vote in for the okapi…..this is my childrens most favorite zoo animal because it is such a bizarre looking one!! Like many parts of different animal all put together!!!
My 7 children love love love Jonathon Parks!! And so do I !!! we would love to win these!!

    blessings Alisa

  9. My 6yo son picked the mountain gorilla after much debating with himself. :) Thanks for introducing us to Jonathan Park - we’ve listened to a bit over the internet, and I think we may have to purchase a set soon!

  10. I would love to hear the moose and hear the discussion. We lived in Alaska and loved having moose in our backyard.

    Thanks

  11. I say the Demoiselle Crane. I always thrill to see a beautiful crane wading or flying across water. The Creator is so amazing in His variety of animals!

I think my 9yo son would rather have a set of communicator watches…want to make that your freebie next week? LOL

  12. My pick would be the hedgehog - it’s high on our “Oh, how cute” list right now!

Thanks for the giveaway - wow! - a giveaway every week?! We would sure love to win this one!

    Blessings,
    Nancy

  13. Boy! If I had been smart and just picked for myself, it would have been a lot easier. But no, my family-oriented spirit had to ask all of my brothers which animal was their favorite, and that led to some debate, I can tell you!
So, after much ado, we have decided the Tasmanian Devil would be very interesting to hear about. But we can’t wait to hear all of the others as well!
    Blessings,
    Hannah L.

  14. I totally can’t find the list of 100 animals, but we love any kind of bird sound. Eagles especially. :)

  15. Jennifer,
Be sure to head over to Mother Hen’s Ship Full O’ Pirates to see her free download. I think you’ll like it.

  16. Well, we just went to the zoo last friday and apparently my kids favorite animal is now a green anaconda, so I guess that’s the one we’d most like to hear. Thanks so much for the great giveaway!!

  17. I’d pick the woodpecker. I was just trying to explain how all the tiny holes got in a tree to my 2 yr old, and he acted like I was speaking a foreign language:)

  18. This is such a good idea! My family loves the zoo. We buy a membership to one about an hour from our house (great family activity). The first thing you see when you enter the zoo is the flamingos. My kids (we have 4 ages 5, 3 1/2, 21 months and 7 months) are in awe of all the animals but are facinated by the fact that flamingo are pink because of what they eat! We are some of the few at the zoo who stop to read the plaques with info on the animals. I have never heard of Johnathan Park he sounds great. I might have to buy this for them this christmas.

    Carrie

  19. What is a binturong…I’m clueless, so even though the elephant is my facinating favorite, I just may go straight to the unknown.

  20. My son would like to listen to the elephant track. Elephants are his favorite animal. He likes that they have trunks and that they can “air condition” themselves with their ears.

  21. Oh! this set sounds SO good!

My daughter’s favorite animal on the list is the Polar Bear (the theme of her birthday party this year, which is hard to do in Southern California the end of may!), and I think I would like to hear about Koala’s which are my favorite.

So I think I am trying to vote twice. Oops.

    Let’s go with Polar Bear!

  22. We would like to learn about wolverines.

Thanks for entering us in your contest!

  23. Ok, so I can’t really pick one. I think it would be a toss up between the Tasmanian Devil and the poison dart frog. My kids would love both those animals. Thanks for the giveaway!

  24. Id have to say the wolf. We live here in Ontario and have been to a provincial park in Northern Ontario to camp and participate in their weekly wolf howl - great fun! Our family loves the Jonathon Park series and we’d love to hear what Jonathon and Mr. Park have to say about wolves ;)
    Thanks! - Cher

  25. Zebra. My daughter loves horses and rides them every chance she gets. They are gorgeous animals. So zebras are the closest thing on the list. And we have seen the movie Racing Stripes (about a zebra that enters a horse race against all odds.) So zebra. Yup.

  26. Elephants are way cool. Every kid I know loves elephants (and me too)!

  27. Owl………..such an intresting creature. Would love to learn more about it!

  28. I’d say the reindeer, I’d like to know more about them beyond the Santa stuff :)

  29. What a nice giveaway we would love to learn more about the Tasmanian Devil!

  30. The Komodo Dragon for us! We would LOVE to be listening to these as we cruise the zoo… :-)

  31. Tonight our pick will have to be the komodo dragon. There was one in our bathroom … okay maybe it was only a gecko but it was in my territory!!! Standing there trying to decide what to do with a lizard was not pretty. And I think it grew bigger the longer I stood there.

    Yup… the komodo dragon

We have recently started listening to the Jonathan Park adventures (1st disc) and the children love it!! This would be fun to add to our collection.

  32. The “Polar Bears” fascinate our family. We have been watching shows about their habitat melting and causing them to become endangered! It is very interesting how their bodies are built to withstand the extreme cold. Please enter my name in your delightful drawing. Many thanks, Cindi

  33. My oldest loves Hedgehogs and would have one for a pet if they were not illegal here in Az. So we will say Hedgehogs.

Our family loves Johnathan Park and can’t wait for the next adventure to come out on CD. Do you know when that will happen?

    Thanks for the fun give-a-ways!

  34. I vote hedgehog. Not a spectacular creature, but reminds me of England.
Haha, I just saw the last comment was also for hedgehog. I didn’t think anyone else would say that.

  35. Ever since we heard Buddy Davis at the Creation Museum, we have been really interested in the duck-billed platypus. So, that is our pick! :)

  36. I’d like either the boa constrictor or the king cobra. My son would absolutely love this!

  37. I would vote for the poison dart frog. Interesting choice, I know, but we saw poison frogs at the zoo, so I thought it would be fun to listen too.

  38. HUM , just one huh!! Ok how about the dart frog, or maybe the platypus, or the gecko. There are to many to just pick one!! :-)
    Blessings-
    Rachelle

  39. Definitely the Galapagos Tortoise. Turtles are one of God’s neatest creations I think!

  40. I’d love to hear the hedgehog! I think they are adorable and I’m very curious to find out what they sound like. :)

  41. Definitely, the Gila Monster. My son (great lover of all God’s creation) just watched a program on animal channel about a Gila Monster clamping down on a man, refusing to let go, and injecting him with poison (he almost died). He watched with facination as the guy had to go to the hospital, but made a full recovery. Right down a 7 year old boy’s alley.

  42. Okay, heading back to my childhood here, but I haven’t heard much about adorable panda bears since I was little. And they were my favorites. But I am amazed at the variety listed on the discs! WOW!

This would make a great gift for my kids for Christmas (whether we win or not!).
    :-)

  43. I think I’d like to hear about a sloth. They are just so strange and I’ve never learned much about them.

  44. We love Jonathan Park! I’ve been fascinated by the Okapi since I did a report on them in elementary school, so I’d pick that one.

  45. I have called my husband my “Giraffe” since our first year of marriage because he is so tall and happily reaches anything down for me. After six children and twelve years of marriage, I affectionately choose the giraffe. Our anniversary is next week. Thanks.

  46. Even though I got to listen to the sample already, the leopard is our choice. At our local zoo they have a special viewng “window” that allows you to look at the leopards from inside their cage. You are actually mostly under the exhibit with your head sticking up in a plexiglass dome. It is a favorite of the children.

  47. My pick would be the Snow Leopard!

  48. The Tasmanian Devil caught my eye. I wonder if it sounds anything like the t.v. character. =)

  49. A poison dart frog makes noise? I’ve got to hear this CD set. (And I love that you call it an album — we’re so old school.)

  50. WE would love to hear about the Gecko or the Poison Dart Frog. My children are really fascinated with frogs and lizards.:-)
    Thanks a bunch,

  51. Please enter me.

I would be curious to see what they say about the Panda… I know that the Science community has gone back and forth as to whether it is truly from the BEAR family or the RACOON family.

  52. The green mamba… what is a green mamba?… hmm… off to google that one…
Thanks for the freebie - I enjoyed listening to this and know my daughter would like these as well. I love that he is a creationist. We watch National Geog. but I’m so disappointed at their “millions of years” comments.

  53. giraffe

  54. I love the tiger and wish I could have one for a pet some day!

    Great blog post. Thank you.

  55. I love the tiger and wish I could have one for a pet some day!

    Great blog post. Thank you.

  56. Okay, there are alot of animals that we would love to hear about. However, the ‘gecko’ word just jumped out at me from the list. Maybe I just like to say gecko.
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  57. The camel. We spent 5.5 hours at the zoo a week before I gave birth at the end of June, and we were the most impressed with the camel. Much bigger than I expected.

  58. This was a hard choice but we’re going to PICK (he, he) the Porcupine. My kiddos would absolute love this set both of their birthdays are coming up and it would be a real treat to be chosen. Thanks so much for offering these!!!

  59. Hey, no one has picked the YAK yet! ;) Since we live in yak-land (no, not Tibet, but the countryside of Mongolia….they must have migrated….smile), we see and hear(!) these funny creatures every day, but I’d like to hear what good ol’ Kendall and Jonathan have to say about them! I’m thinking Ahnya, my 10 yr. old, might choose the snow leopard, though — also in these parts, but NOT something we see everyday! (she’s in bed; I’ll ask her tomorrow….)

  60. Giraffes would be our pick - not because they are so uncommon, but for some reason my son loves to hear about them. Last summer we went to the zoo and that’s all he wanted to see… but the zoo we went to didn’t have any! What an incredible creation of God. Thanks for the great giveaway!

  61. Growing up, I was totally panda obsessed. I’d love to hear the audio for the Panda Bear.

As dedicated Jonathan Park fans, our whole family would love to win the giveaway. ;-)

  62. Wow! What a cool giveaway. I didn’t even know that this product existed! I would love to hear the Yak or the Beaver, both seem interesting! I would love to have this for my son (I’m sure he’d like to hear the monkeys!). Thanks!

  63. This drawing is closed. The winner will be (or has been) announced on Friday, August 15.
