From the article “And therefore, Sarah Palin, who affirms so much that is good, true and praiseworthy, may well be another Deborah in that she is living proof that the Republican Party is gutless, effeminate and cannot find godly men willing to take a stand on pivotal moral issues – or that the ones who do will not be allowed to run for the highest office….”

If not why?

Did I miss the article somewhere else? I would like to read it. Do you have a link to it?
Caroline you can click the “read more” link above or go here”

Duh! I just found the link. I’m going to read it now. Can you tell, in your opinion or in what you have studied, why some of God’s chosen men—like David and Moses, for example—failed their wives and children, while they, themselves, were about the business of doing God’s work? Just curious. I’m trying to understand some things I read in a commentary.
That was a very well-written article. I agree that our country has fallen so low that we are under God’s judgement. Mrs. Palin seems to have been raised up because no appropriate men can be found. The only thing I question, is the statement that she is not in submission to her husband. Maybe all of this VP stuff is A-OK with Mr. Palin and perhaps he has encouraged her all along in her political aspirations. If that is the case, then she is submitting to him. I think wives are called to submit to their husbands, even when their husbands fall short of Biblical standards. However, I get the sense that Mrs. Palin may be operating on her own and her husband is a “yes ma’am” man.
I don’t agree that our country is under God’s judgment. God judged us once and for all at the cross- the next step is individual judgment once we die, where we account for our lives. That’s what I believe anyway.
Just like when Abraham asked God if he would spare Sodom and Gomorrah for 50…then down to 10 righteous people. God agreed to spare the city for 10 righteous people. I believe that even if we were still under God’s judgment as in OT times, there are more than 10 righteous people here in America.
I do believe that Palin is the best choice we have, which is why God appointed her to be on the ticket. Whether or not she is Deborah, is not our place to judge. We just have to do the best with what we’ve been given (the choice between her and McCain or Obama)
I do not believe our Country is under God’s judgement at all either, as Kristi said. I don’t believe God is up in heaven casting any judgement ,other than what we will recieve once he comes back and we are all in heaven.
I do believe God is more dissapointed than anything, but I believe that has to do with our lack of obedience in the way our world is., sin and lack of doing ultimately what we are called to do, lead others to Christ, so that others have a chance of salvation, that is clearly what we need to do biblically. Actually I believe God Is not in judgement at all to a woman being in the running for see he does not judge her at all. If Sarah Palin is true and right with the Lord I am sure he is ok with her doing the best she can do.In my faith belief, I believe God knows everything so I believe it is his will IF she is appointed, I respect God’s decisions, so i have to support and respect that choice, since I do believe she will be the better choice.
I have always stated in my walk with God I will NOT judge , who am I to do that?
not only did he not have proof that she isn’t sumissive to her husband, she could have raised her daughter right and still have her turn away and have sex. the parents teach their children right but can not control and are not responsible for their children’s action. come on, if we ruled out everyone who’s children had sinned, we’d be ruling out lots of good ppl.
Ladies,
Thanks for your input, but I’m afraid I disagree with both Kristie and Paulette.
I haven’t anymore time for blogging today , having already done a coat of mud on the bathroom drywall, changed the front brakes on the van and still have the texture of the bathroom and a bit of Lord’s Day prep with the family before bed.
However I heartily recommend Carmon’s post found here :

and the ensuing discussion on this topic.
God Bless

This is what I have been trying to say to people all along. This is a great article. My heart broke today at church. During our kids worship that we have before church they played a song and added slides. Josh Phelps, Tim Tebow, and Sara Palin.. it was a song talking about doing the impossible. Everyone cheered for the picture of Sara Palin. I walked out tears in my eyes.
I disagree about this country not being under God’s judgement. I think what we are seeing is the consequences of what we have let our nation come to.
I agree that we are seeing the natural consequences of the sin in America. But that’s different than being under God’s *judgment*. I don’t believe that God is going to wipe out our nation tribulation-style before we are taken to heaven. If we still need to be judged, what did Jesus die for?
I guess the question is, are we in the end times? Are you all talking about the final tribulation. or do you think God is going to reign down His judgment on our nation as a whole- the good and bad? Because from God’s history, I don’t think He’s ever reigned down His judgment on the righteous, and Christ makes us righteous when we believe in Him, right? There are more than 10 righteous people in America, don’t you think?
I was thinking about this very thing, I do think America is under Gods judgement and I do believe He could be using Mrs. Palin for His glory. If the men in country are not going to step up and obey heed the call, then God will use a woman to bring us into obedience.
I am voting for Mc Cain/Palin , especially in light of Obama’s stance on abortion. I think the innocent lives of children trumps how we “feel” about a woman in office. I am sickened over this whole “born alive” thing. It makes me ill to think that this man may get into office, because some Christians refuse to realize the enormity of this issue.
Thanks Perry, I did enjoy reading the post you left, I do not dis agree with anything he said at all, I have believed allot of that over my years of being a Godly Christian woman. I guess since my Godly husband walked out on a Godly marraige after 23 years, and I have had to move into a different role as single mom and a father who just stopped being a father, I have had to fill many roles and I must admit that my role has changed drastically, I had no choice.
In saying all that God is proud of the woman I am, he does not condemn me at all, he blesses me abundantly as I have had to step up and take on the roles in which my husband gave up and walked out on, so my views have changes allot. I have descovered that God does not judge my decisions at all, as a matter of fact he is pretty proud of me.
I do not at all support Obama and I will def vote for the latter as apposed to him. I believe that choice is just the better choice. In the scheme of things whoever gets put into office is not necessarily whom I would like but we will have no other choice but to support it.
Blessings, and thanks for the article.
so I now have a question- are Perry and Kim pre or post millunninest?
becasuse while I think that America deserved to be judged and may be being judged… we are not in the mill. yet and this author believes we could be.
BRAVO! Very thought provoking.

One rhetorical question for the “God has not raised up any godly men” statement: Is that actually true?
No offense, but having run several campaigns, I can agree with almost all political junkies that the choice of Palin was BRILLIANT! It had little to do with no “godly” men, and more to do with national political trends.
Please, let’s not assume that all men in national political circles suddenly died or became democrats.
rebecca,
We are cheerfully post-millennial in our eschatology
Caroline,
A quick though on the line of “God raised up Palin” , at this point I am uncomfortable making that assessment of Gov. Palin because frankly she isn’t “raised up” yet.
She is trying to get raised up. The McCain campaign wants her to be raised up, but until she is in office she ain’t raised up.
The real question in my opinion is “Should Christian’s help to raise her up.” which is why I’ve spent so much time talking/writing about the issue here.
What is the produce terminal?
Jeanie,
I’ve answered your question in the comments on this post.
