In Loving Memory of our Fake Uncle
Our dear fake uncle moved to Wisconsin in April after signing a contract to update his blog at least once a week. Sadly he hasn’t posted in almost two weeks, and we are forced to assume that he is either dead or kidnapped.
In light of that assumption, we dedicate this post to him.
You went far up north and you told us to wait;
It was time for a move but you said you’d update.
We search your blog daily for signs that you live
We wait for the updates you promised you’d give.
No emails forthcoming, no comments of late,
We fear that you’ve met with a horrible fate.
Oh, where is our funcle so loving and kind?
Does he know how we miss him, how we suffer and pine?
Our candy jar’s empty, our chocolate is gone.
His memory was short but ours - it is long.
We listen and wait for his knock at the door,
And we look for his shadow so close to the floor.
In loving memory of Tom D., our funcle, missing and presumed dead since November 5, 2008.

I live in Wisconsin. Sorry, I haven’t seen your Funcle… but I did see some snow today. : ) I’ll keep my eye open for him though. Love the poem!
ROFL! that is so funny! I was starting to wonder where he went too… he was on facebook for awhile and then fell off the planet or something. Sorry I haven’t seen him, but if I do, I will be sure to send him this way!
