Moon landing footage
Feel free to tell me if you have reason to believe the video isn’t authentic, unless you believe the conspiracy theory. Then I reserve the right to laugh at you.
If we can assume that it’s real, I’m forced to admit that surfing the internet is educational.
A fun tidbit from Wikipedia:
After re-entering the LM [lunar module], the hatch was closed and sealed. While preparing for the liftoff from the lunar surface, Armstrong and Aldrin discovered that in their bulky spacesuits, they had broken the ignition switch for the ascent engine. The ascent engine had no switch to fire. Using part of a pen, they pushed the circuit breaker in to activate the launch sequence. Aldrin still possesses the pen which they used to do this.

My husband is taking an astronomy class right now and we just watched a video together for it. In the video it had the moon walk in it. Prior to watching this video I was a skeptic to it really happening. During the video there was a close up of the flag, which is the conspiracy, is actually not waving in the wind like the skeptics want to say. There are actually two poles holding the flag up and one of them is tilting, giving it that look. So, I am no longer a skeptic to the moon walk. It wasn’t even brought up in the video, I just looked closely at the picture.

I am thiry years old and had never seen this video! I was as giddy as the kids watching it for the first time! I may have to surf the internet more often!

A pen saved them… Amazing, really!
I saw this video and others like it when I was in school. They actually took time out of our academic day to allow us to watch History being made. So, it’s part of my worldview. I never realized that there might be adults in our country who haven’t seen this. Were there other videos on the same topic?
I don’t remember. I do remember purposely checking the “don’t show related videos” box so that readers wouldn’t be subject to the standard youtube trash that invariably pops up. Nice feature, that.
i’ve been looking everywhere for the “don’t show related videos” box on YouTube… can’t find it. how do you do that?

I never noticed before, but it was on the right, just next to the Embed code. If you click the icon (is it a picture of a gear?) it will show several options to customize the video before embedding in your blog. One of those options is Don’t Show Related Videos.
