And I know it’s true, because she calls me mom.
Yes, my baby talks now. See how she wraps her lips around her gums to make the “m” sound when she calls me? Who ever thought that toothless gums could be so cute? She started trying to say mom a few weeks ago, but yesterday she started saying it very clearly.
Can you believe how cute she is? We should rent her out. Judging by the way she makes the rounds at church, we could get rich that way.

Seriously, what? She really does say mom, or mama now. That’s the only word she says so far, but she says it very clearly and only when she wants *me.*
She also blows raspberries whenever she wants to nurse, but I’m not sure that counts as a word.

I know you are telling the truth, but I am warning you – you have a brilliant one on your hands! Everything about her, including saying Mom or mama and MEANING it at this young age, reminds me of my daughter, Joanna. The one who knew all the letters of the alphabet at 18 months. Who knew all the sounds of the letters at 3. Who was reading the entire “Little House on the Prairie” series in Kindergarten. Who started college full time at 13.

My daughter started out saying “hi, Dad.” (Also at 5 1/2 months) But she didn’t say Mom until about 10 months old. Until then, I was “Bob.”

yes that is what I was asking I have never heard of a child that young saying and meaning words. It amazes me but I do believe you.
In that lower right picture she looks like her brother. I’ve never noticed the resemblance before.
