In my corner of the world today

Hearing:

  • Kids playing Monopoly.
  • Baby cooing on the floor, as she scoots around with a bare bottom.  I love uncarpeted floors!
  • A soft breeze.  The calm after the storm.
  • Sleepy groans from little ones napping.
  • The washer as it finishes its cycle.
  • The hum of the computer fan.

Tasting:

  • Stale chocolate.  Sigh.
  • Kettle chips, left behind by a kind guest.

Seeing:

  • Curtains rustling in the breeze
  • Ceiling fans spinning overhead
  • Diapers hanging from the drying rack.  Need to move those outside now that the storm has passed.
  • A sad poinsetta, still hanging on 3 months after Christmas.
  • The light in the fridge as I rustle for a better snack.  I finally replaced the bulb this morning.  Funny how much you miss the little things, but don't notice until they're back.
  • The sun shining in through the windows, a welcome sight after a gloomy and stormy morning.

Smelling:

  • Fresh outdoors, washed clean with the first few rains in a long drought.
  • Stale chocolate.  Do I want another?  How desperate am I?

Feeling:

  • Missing somebody.

What are you doing?

  1. Wish we were closer cause I would bring you some chocolate! There is some sitting on the counter from when we made s’mores the other day! :)
This was neat to read! I think I am going to do it on my site!

  2. I have a sad poinsettia too, but it does have new growth! I have never been able to keep one, and I am hoping this one lasts.

Love Kettle Chips. We had some Jalapeno ones a couple of weeks ago, but they weren’t hot enough.

I just went through FB updates and listed what my March and Feb. looked like. It was interesting going back and seeing what happened in tidbits. Little thoughts and news we sometimes forget. I much enjoyed putting it together.

    :)
    Have a great day!
    blessings~

  3. I really love the “after storm” breeze. It’s just so calm and relaxing. I must say, though, that I also love a great thunder storm in the afternoon. It’s the perfect background for a good nap.

  4. I am eating chocolate too…. I am a lot older than you and I need to tell you … as an older Christian woman to a younger Christian woman ;) … that having good chocolate around is a must for any mother!!!
    God Bless You!

  5. We spent this morning in our little utility shed: 1 adult, 5 children and 1 possibly laboring goat.

Why, you ask? Because the weather alerts telling us about the impending storm you experienced also, were doom and gloom and our utility shed was the safest place for us to be. And, because our one and only animal building was occupied by the doe that has already had her babies 1 1/2 weeks ago.

This afternoon, we are catching up on everything we didn’t get done this morning because we were watching a goat in the utility shed, listening to rain, falling leaves, thunder & watching lightening, praying for no hail.

Thankfully the weather was uneventful, as was the goat, who is obviously ready to pop at any given moment. She’s waiting for the middle of the night. I just know it! She had her chance with a very captive audience and she didn’t take it!

  6. Whenever I feel like I am missing someone I get pregnant. When I count all the kids and think I am missing one even though I have them all it is a sure fire way to know I will be pregnant within a month or two. ;)

  7. We had a rainy drizzle all day….thanks for the peek at your day….
