If I can get my hands on some free review stuff.  Hint, hint.  icon biggrin Stuff I would love to review

  • Wallypop Diapering – a WAHM with a full line of cloth diapering supplies and many other complimentary products, all at extremely reasonable prices.  She also has a blog to give you a peek into her daily life and offer further diapering advice.
  • Dive Into Math – Interactive video lectures that teach Saxon math, lesson by lesson.  Our children are starting new books, and I’ve heard rave reviews of these CDs from many people I know and love.
  • Rosetta Stone – Since we live in south Texas, we sampled this for Spanish briefly and were very impressed.  Of all the foreign language courses out there, this is the one my mind keeps returning to.  But you know…you really need at least one full level to get the full effect.  Helloooo?  Rosetta?  Are you listening?

  1. You know you can contact the company directly. If you visit my blog you will notice that I review a different book every week. I get those books for free by contacting the company that makes them. For more information, I have some links on my “About” page.

    Thanks,
    Nate

      Nate,
I often do that too and have nearly always received an enthusiastic response. I did contact Rosetta a while back but didn’t receive a response. They’re one of the few companies that didn’t jump on the opportunity for publicity that’s nearly free.

  2. Bzz agent is a great site if you want to try things for free. It takes a little bit of patience to get the ball rolling where they send you lots of stuff Their website is bzzagent.com
I don’t think they have your specific items for testing but you should check it out if you are into doing that kind of thing.

  3. Lene :

Did you actually do a demo in Spanish from Rosetta Stone? Every time I have tried, I get to learn Turkish. We don’t speak much Turkish in the metroplex…

  4. Just wanted to give a little endorsement of “Wallypop.” A while ago I got angry thinking about the amount of money I was wasting on Swiffer refill pads (I use the WetJet). One of the frugal sites mentioned buying washable Swiffer pads and Wallypop was linked as a place to order them (heck, it could have even been this site? I honestly don’t remember). Anyway, I believe I paid $5.00 plus minimal shipping for 2 refill ‘pads.’ They work great and I haven’t purchased any Swiffer products since I received the Wallypop products! I highly recommend the site!

(If anyone is wondering, it IS possible to refill their bottles with some water and Pine Sol or Mr. Clean)

    LOL you are so funny.

I saw this pop up on your FB status, and I wondered what you were up to.

I am all for free to review too! Rosetta sounds fabulous! Been looking at that for a few years….

    blessings~

  6. I have been enjoying your blog for the last couple of weeks! I am a Texan home schooling mom with a family business. I would love to set a product for you and your family. We produce all-inclusive Christian craft kits & monthly clubs for kids. Just let me know if you are interested and keep up the great work.

  7. Samara :

A word about Rosetta Stone- you may want to try your nearest library’s website. I don’t know if you have a library card, but most sizeable public libraries have (or had, due to licensing issues) *free* access to Rosetta on their websites for library card holders. Right- as in log in and access it all from home. Guess what’s their most popular language? English :) I used to use the Spanish and Russian ones; they’re awesome.

      Samara,
This is great advice to anyone who is interested in Rosetta Stone. Unfortunately our smalltown library doesn’t have any educational software available, but many bigger ones do – or so I’ve heard.

  8. I look forward to our family using Rosetta Stone when our little ones are not so little. I think it would be great enjoyment for the entire family.

  9. Kim, which levels & editions of the DIVE CD for Saxon are you looking to sample? we have a used homeschool curriculum store & could probably hook you up with one in exchange for a shameless plug for an old friends homeschool store.
