Y’all really do write very interesting. I can’t make it to Boston, due to living down where people say “y’all.”

This is off the topic of your post, but since y’all are home schooling …

The “have your cake and eat it, too” saying stumped me most of my life. Of course I can have my cake and eat it, too!

Then, in my 30′s, someone told me that the original saying was “eat your cake and have it, too.”

Oh, once you eat it, you can’t have it anymore. That was probably obvious to everyone else, but i didn’t get it until I was over 30 years old.

OK, nevermind- I see it’s the 500th birthday of John Calvin, not Martin Luther’s nailing the 95 Theses. Funny, I was thinking the VF event had to do with the Protestant Reformation! That’s the theme of our summer’s tour, but it’s not a centennial-year event.

Maybe this is a weird question, but why is this event called Reformation 500 when really that would be in 2017? Is there some other even that VF is honoring?

Oh, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Boston. We actually honeymooned there 21 years ago and haven’t been back!! We can’t attend but hope you all have a great time!!! Love the dress pattern-be sure to show us when it’s completed!

Very nice! Boston is one of my very favoritest places on earth. History just oozes from the streets. I hope you’ll love it.

It pains me not to go because we’re within easy driving distance, but even with 25% off, the conference cost alone is too much for our budget.

We didn’t attend the Jamestown festivities because we lived a couple of miles from the Settlement for almost 10 years back in the 90s and had visited a ton of times. But…we ARE going to Boston and are very excited! The kids and I have never been, but my husband lived in Boston for a summer in college and actually attended the Boston Pops concert and 4th of July fireworks (but that was 30 years ago). I think we’ll all enjoy it being there together this year–plus, it’s my birthday week!

We’re going and I can’t believe it’s just a month away! I’m terribly excited and praying that we’ll all be in good health when we get there. All of my babies had terrible head colds, their noses were rubbed raw from tissues when we went to Jamestown, so we skipped out on most of the activities. Surely that couldn’t happen twice?!! Maybe we’ll go on quarantine for 2 weeks proceeding the trip
