A quiet new year

Vision Forum Deal of the Day: save 40-90%!

Is it just me, or is the whole internet strangely silent?  I keep feeling guilty for not blogging more until I open up my favorite blogs and see that they’re much quieter than usual too.

Maybe we’re all enjoying a quiet new year?  We try not to go overboard on holiday celebrations, but this is a busy time of year for us on several levels, and it’s hard not to breathe a sigh of relief when life returns to normal.

We’ve had a whirlwind life lately – big family get-togethers on both sides (with one more to come!), long hours in the warehouse for hubby and his helpers, Christmas festivities, out-of-town company (my favorite in-laws in the whole world have come and gone), and more.

Now the house is quiet, my hunney’s hours at work have slowed a bit and our company has all gone home.  We’re nearly caught up on sleep, and the junk food will soon be gone.  Tonight our church is having a Jamie Soles concert followed by a pizza dinner and folk dance, and then our schedule is clear except for 2 more family gatherings next weekend.  Oh, and a Spurs game for me and my hunney a week from Tuesday – our first ever, tickets courtesy of Friend Alan.  Oh – and I need to check ticket prices for Tim Hawkins, who will be in San Antonio this Friday, though I suspect seats are too rich for our blood…

yes, our family is pleasantly calm and quiet this New Year, also. We are on a quest to simplify even more (we already live quite simply), so we are getting rid of LOTS of stuff, but not frantically. :)

I’m glad I’m not the only one who noticed. It’s kind of eery, really.

Tim Hawkins?!!!?!?!? How wonderful for you guys that he’s coming to a venue near you! How I wish that man would come to the UK! I hope you get tickets and have a fantastic time! Take a couple of paper bags to breathe into now and then, and maybe an absorbent pad to sit on. ;)

The internet has definitely been eerily quiet. This fact is all too apparent to me, since I work nights and have very very few tasks, and it is what keeps me company these days. And until they start printing books that are backlit or in black pages with white text, it’s going to continue to be, because my eyesight is failing and a trip to the eye doc wont be financially in reach for a few more months.

    Happy New Year…..

I do love when life gets back to normal after the holidays, though with a bit of a twinge in my heart to see the holidays go away for another year…

Take care and you really must update us on your pregnancy!

It seems fairly quiet to me too. I am one of those people who has posted very little lately but if you read the few things I did post it hasn’t been because we are having a relaxing quiet time……”Murphy” has been our guest and we haven’t been able to get him to leave! LOL I am glad that you all are enjoying some refreshing time together though!

Why wasn't my comment published?

Go ahead. Make my day.
