Giveaway: Evenings With Victoria Botkin

I don't usually let giveaways overlap, but this one is important.
My friend Victoria is a sweet and wise woman, and always reminds me of my own mother when I'm around her. I suspect she has this effect on many women, and I'm glad to hear that she is actively mentoring young wives!
I loved her advice on how to choose a curriculum, but now she is focusing more directly on counselling a wife in her role as her husband's helper.

How does a wife help her husband be the man Christ wants him to be? How can she inspire him to love her? How can she discover the forgotten joys of being the helper God designed her to be? Beginning March 1, Victoria, beloved wife to Geoffrey Botkin, will host weekly online mentoring sessions for women as a homemaker's resource to the worldwide Christian community. Mother to five boys and two girls, Victoria draws insight from 30 years of applying Scripture to marriage with one of America's most visionary men.
Join Victoria as she discusses subjects such as woman's great power, sinful tendencies, obedience vs. submission, independence vs. submission, freedom vs. submission, beauty, dress, makeup, respect, women's rights, hospitality, speaking words of life, managing with grace, pitfalls of perfectionism in homemaking, Hollywood expectations, trials, trust, and cultivating personality. Victoria will begin each session by responding to pressing, appropriate questions from participants. Topic headings include:
- All about Eve
- All about Sarah
- The Proverbs 31 wife
- About love
- How to help your husband love you
- How to become a wise woman
Sessions will take place Monday evenings from 8 to 9 p.m., Central Time, March 1 through April 26, 2010. The cost for these nine sessions is $49 per woman, and daughters may listen in with their mothers. The sessions will also be recorded and MP3s made freely available to participants shortly after each session, so that any who cannot join all nine sessions live may still hear what was discussed.

Never heard of her, but the sessions sound wonderful!
I’ve heard of her…I would love to win these sessions!!
Now, that’s a giveaway! I’d love to be entered (planning on attending either way). Yes, my family and I are familiar with the Botkin’s work/products, though we haven’t delved as deep into their personal website as we’d like. Mostly what we have that they’re involved with is from the one and only, much loved Vision Forum. Definitely loved Return of the Daughters.

Please enter me! I’m so excited about this! I’m very familiar with the Botkin family. I loved Return of the Daughters, and this past summer I enjoyed reading “So Much More”. It’s refreshing to see families that take a stand. I would LOVE to be able to join the sessions! Last July, my husband and our son got to travel from Oregon to Ohio to see the Botkin Family at their Christian Families at the Crossroads. My husband and daughters have seen them at the VF Father and Daughter retreats too. We LOVE them and highly recommend anything the do! I would love to win….. but even if I don’t…. I will be signing up!

Ooooh, I’m pretty much planning on attending (although I’d have to listen to the sessions later since they are when I’m putting children in bed) but to WIN it would be GREAT! I’m familiar with the Botkins only through VF – have Return of the Daughters and loved it.

Wow, thanks for doing this giveaway! I’ve never entered one before but this one is really worth it to me. I am not that familiar with Mrs. Botkin, though I’d like to be. I have heard of her daughters products through VF. I am excited about these classes.
I had the wonderful opportunity to meet Victoria Botkin at the Sufficiency of Scripture Conference in Kentucky. She is a wonderful combination of sober counsel mixed with a sympathetic understanding of the reality of life and homemaking, with a touch of gentle humor thrown in. I found her curriculum advice very accurate and also very relieving, in that I found that I was doing more right than I was wrong, and I stopped worrying. Her ultimate focus seemed very much on the whole atmosphere that a wife and mother creates within her home. Victoria portrayed how much more important it is to cultivate a love of learning, a tight bond with your children by your availability to them, and to show them the way of following Christ by following Him yourself in front of them. That cultivating a love for reading is more important than what level phonics books your five year old is currently working on.
She truly has a lot to offer young and old alike, and anyone would benefit from hearing her wise counsel!

I am familiar with the Botkins through some of their products I’ve seen in the Vision Forum catalog, but I’ve never actually read/listened/watched any of them.
I LOVED Mrs. Botkin’s lectures on homeschooling. They were so refreshing.
We also loved Return of the Daughters. We’re not ones to share media, but we did with ROTD.

I have read So Much More and watched Return of the Daughters and loved both magnificently! They have really changed my life in a positive way. Because of their Biblical research and presentation of that research, I will be doing college online and being a stay-at-home daughter!
I hope I’m able to win, because I’d love to glean some wisdom from the girls’ mothers as well!!
I would LOVE to win this! I bought So Much More and Return of the Daughters for my oldest daughter, and bought the soundtrack for me. I’ve learned about more of their work recently and there seems to be so much to learn from them.
We love Curriculum Advice 1, it has been one of the most encouraging things for our homeschooling journey (yeah, we are the rebels of our family and they mostly think we are nuts). I would love the chance to hear what she has to say!

Our family has been very blessed by Mrs. Botkin’s curriculum advice. It has kept us on the right path and encouraged us to keep on homeschooling inspite of the difficulties.
I love everything I’ve read/heard from the Botkin family. My husband bought me a bunch of mp3 through bluebehemoth.com for Mothers Day last year, and Mrs. Botkin’s curriculum advice was one of them. Plus, every time I hear her husband or her daughters speak, I think, I need to meet that woman! I wouldn’t mind sitting and listening to all the Vision Forum wives

The Botkin family is a rare jewel! They have mentored my husband and I and our children through many of their excellent resources that we have purchased from Vision Forum. I don’t have any daughters but have read and listened to many of Anna and Elizabeth’s messages and have had my sons listen to them also in the hopes that it will help them in finding a godly wife and raising their own daughters should God bless them in that way. I am excited about Mrs. Botkin’s willingness to mentor other women and allow them to glean from her life experiences. May many hundreds of wives and daughters be encouraged by her. I would feel humbled and blessed to be one of those women!

My daughters and I would love this giveaway! We’ve been using the Botkins’ resources and really like The Return of the Daughters, Homeschool Dropouts, the “conversations” DVD set and the individual CD messages from VF. We’ve read So Much More and Outside Hollywood, and we’ve always been encouraged and convicted by them to know what God says about today’s issues. The Botkins have been virtual mentors for our family, which has been a precious blessing from God, since we are currently situated in hostile and mocking environment. We appreciate their courageous stand for Truth.
The encouragement and wisdom from these sessions with Mrs. Botkin are worth more than any price. I’m glad she is offering it.

Return of the Daughters as amazing, as was the book ‘So Much More.’ So convicting, challenging and encouraging to this girl who has been ‘at it for years.’ We can always learn something new. Also I love Anna Sofia & Elizabeth’s CD ‘Strength & Dignity for Daughters” and just last week was able to listen to “What our Father Taught us about Boys.” I have “Homeschool Drop-Outs” and “What is Biblical Femininity?” as well and can’t wait to watch them. For Valentine’s Day, we got the daughters the CD, “What Our Father Taught Us About Boys.” We also have “So Much More” and both are fantastic. WOFTU is timely in our lives now as our oldest dhs are 14 and 11.

So funny – two nights ago I watched the “What is Biblical Feminity” DVD which features the two oldest Botkin daughters, and thought, “This is wonderful, but I sure wish I could hear their mother speak to wives!” And then this pops up! I always own the curriculum advice CDs. This is definitely something to look into and something I would love to win!
I own the Botkins homeschooling CD’s and have listened to them a couple times now as I prepare to “come home” and being homeschooling my oldest child this fall. The advise Mrs. Botkin gives in the homeschool lectures was very encouraging to me and assured me that homeschooling is attainable, doesn’t have to be overwhelming.
I am a young married woman of 6 years and have a deficit of older Christian mentors in my life. So I would love to listen in and glean advice from an experienced wife and mother.
We have Strength and Dignity for Daughters but I haven’t had the chance to listen to it yet. I would love to be able to listen to this and learn from Victoria. Thanks for offering this giveaway.

I lost my mentor to breast cancer last year after only getting to meet with her regularly for a few short months. This would be such an answer to prayer.

We love the Botkins! We have 4 daughters and have So Much More, Curriculum Advice 1&2, Training Dominion Oriented Daughters, and Return of the Daughters. Now that we’ve taken on my sister’s 4, we now have more girls and 2 boys. I’d love to hear more of her godly advice. Today godly advice is so rare!
No other family has had greater influence on my life. I was at a point in my life when my faith meant little to me, and was more of an inconvience than anything. Mr. Botkins teachings on filmmaking introduced me to an entire new world where Christians allowed the word of God to govern every part of their lives. My life has never been the same since. Now I grab a hold of every resourse fromt the Botkins I can.

Yes, I am familiar with the Botkins. I first read So Much More in 2006, and the Lord used it to completely change my life. We have also very much enjoyed The Return of the Daughters, and I have had the pleasure of knowing Anna Sofia and Elizabeth personally since 2007. I was greatly blessed when I was able to meet Mrs. Botkin in person at last year’s Vision Forum Father Daughter Retreat. She is such a dear, humble, wise lady, and I’m thrilled that she is offering these sessions!

Our family has watched the Return of the Daughters, and we have the book So Much More. I think the living testimonies of Mrs. Botkin’s family says a lot about her, though we don’t hear as much about her as we do them.

We have also seen the movie “Return of the Daughters” and have the new CD “What My Father taught me ABOUT BOYS”. Oh how I would love to enter to win! I am just learning about the Botkin family. The Lord has recently changed my heart as a mother and wife to be more visionary. I absolutely adore how “freeing” their homeschooling curricula recommendations are! I also love the Return of the Daughters dvd.
