Believe it or not, it hasn’t taken us this long to give the baby a name. It’s just taken us this long to get around to announcing his name.
And now that I think of it, maybe we won’t announce it just yet. Maybe we could make a bit of a riddle out of it for those who didn’t already stumble across the leaked information on Facebook.
Clues:
- His first name is an English occupational surname, which also happens to be my dad’s and brother’s middle name.
- I think it sounds very nice with his older brother’s name. This is important because I expect to be yelling their names together a lot in the years to come.
- The first name is also the surname of a super-hero’s alter ego, which occasionally causes the little ones to mistakenly call him by the alter ego’s first name instead. Now that I think about it, he (the baby, that is) is kind of a scrawny little guy. The super-hero’s name might make an amusing and appropriate nickname.
- His middle name is the surname of an historical figure in whom our family has taken a rather personal interest over the last year, particularly in June and July.
- This new little man of ours has the same 3 initials as his father and older brother. Oh – and his paternal grandfather, of course, Perry II.

Hmmm….I’m going to have to say that it’s Parker. Peter Parker – Spiderman – is the only everyman superhero that I know of. Plus, Parker is (I believe) an English term for a park ranger.
I DO know that he’s a cute little sweetpea (the baby, that is).

My guess was Parker Calvin, but Cromwell… that would be interesting.
Parker Cromwell Coghlan??? Been hunting the archives on another tab not sure if someone has guessed it yet? But I am happy he was born on what would have been my only boy’s 11 birthday. Made it a happier day for me yesterday!

Good grief- I’m so in love with all of that dark hair and super jealous too! My firstborn had (has) dark hair and I’ve had a sting of blondies since. Of course every time, I hope for another dark haired one, but to no avail.

I was going to guess Peter Patrick Coghlan.
But, since I am absolutely horrid at any type of riddle or word problem, I already know I’m wrong. I’m surprised at how many commentors guessed the same!

Definitely Parker. I was thinking Perry’s middle initial was J, which led me to Parker John Coghlan.

Perry, that confirmed it for me…I was thinking Parker Oliver, which I thought was uber-cute…But Parker Cromwell – that’s a very austere…very dignified name. And very PERFECT to be hollering off the deck to!
I’ll go Parker Cromwell Coghlan, too. That is CUTE! I had wanted to use Parker but hubby vetoed it. Maybe he’d think again if we used Parker Cromwell (he’s a bit of a Cromwell fan) – providing, of course, we had another baby and it being a boy.

Just looked at the photo again. Parker has such an adorable little head (relatively speaking, of course ;oP ) and those to-die-for “I love you Mummy, you’re my everything” newborn-baby-intent eyes. Sigh. I’m in love.
