A double birthday

Current giveaway: The Last Pilgrims book: ends 2/23

Bethany and Perry Boy have birthdays just one day apart: Bethany was born on June 27 (Aunt Roxie’s birthday), and Perry was born the following day on his cousin’s and his grandma’s birthday.

Bethany was actually due on Perry’s birthday, but she was born in a leap year.  We assume the extra day in February threw her off and caused her to miss the mark.  :)

Perry and Bethany are the best of friends.  When I was pregnant with Bethany, I had hoped that we would have a little brother for Perry.  Of course, God knows best.  Perry is absolutely smitten with his baby sister, and Bethany adores her big brother.  They play together all day, and each is lost without the other.

Perry looks out for Bethany, but she is also a calming influence on him.

But Perry isn’t the only one who is smitten with her.  Who could resist those eyes?

Are they two years apart? My two younger kids are the same way. I don’t remember my older son and daughter playing the way my younger ones do. It’s so sweet to see him care for and play with his little sister!

      celee,
      Yes, they’re 2 years apart.
Are your older children as close together as your younger ones? All of ours have played together in natural pairs, but all of our older children are girls. I was pleasantly surprised that gender didn’t keep Perry and Bethany from being best friends. In our family, it seems that differences in age and maturity levels are bigger dividers than gender.

Those shots are really well done. What charming children. I, of course , don’t know what Perry was yelling in that one photo but the other daughter looks impressed-”Whoa!” : )

wow this post made me realize how long I have been following your blog. Yikes time flies. Is the Boy actually turning 4? or is it 3? I think it has to be 4 right?

      maryjo,
You’re right – he’s 4 already. That means I’ve been blogging nearly 5 years! That’s hard for me to believe, but we all love the archives. It’s a fun way to reminisce.

Happy Birthday to Perry and Bethany, and many blessings for them! So sweet how Bethany is trying to comfort her big brother during stressful moment! Rachel is just looking on, seemingly puzzled. Too cute!
