Vision Forum Deal of the Day: save 40-90%!

But I jokingly told hubby and children that the birth was scheduled for tomorrow, exactly one week past the duedate.  I think I’ve begun labor on a Thursday over 80% of the time so far, and I’ve never yet gone more than 8 days past my duedate so it seems very likely that things will begin to happen very soon, quite possibly tonight.

And just because it seemed to help once before, I even scheduled a last-minute chiropractic adjustment with the practitioner recommended by my midwife.  That’s today at 3:30, then I’ll drive into The Big City to pick up hubby at work and we’ll probably hang around town for the evening, enjoying one last date.

Last night didn’t count as a real date since we had 2 teens in tow.  It was more like a mini-family night.  It was fun and I’m sure people thought we were a cute family with our 2 children and one more on the way.  We’re obviously giving it one last try for a boy, right?  If only they knew…[evil over-populator laugh]

But in all fairness, I have to add that I’m still not desperate or even terribly impatient.  Realistically, I feel like this baby could stay put for another week.  Which leaves you plenty of time to enter our Big Baby Giveaway, if you haven’t already.  Or maybe you just don’t want to win free stuff from Thanks Mama, Maccessorized Marie Madeline StudioNew Creation Apparel, and Vision Forum?

  9. Dionne adds her thoughts::

    I once heard a chiropractor from Canada say that his clients that have adjustments while pregnant deliver within 2 hours from the beginning of good contractions. I have wondered for years if chiropractic adjustments really help with labor and delivery.

    hi, i’m one of your quiet readers from over seas :) we’re happily raising our family of five in china, so we love views of the country :) so here’s our guess …

    gender- boy
    date- sunday june 6

    this guess is from myself and my 2 oldest daughters, 13 and 15 :)

  11. Kimarie adds her thoughts::

    Yes, those chiropractic adjustments help immensely. My chiropractor always said it was so easy to adjust pregnant women because of the elastin relaxing their ligaments. Praying!

  12. Kacie adds her thoughts::

    Hey Kim — I’m curious. Was the 40-week date based on your LMP or best guess of date of conception or an ultrasound? Because if it was just LMP but you ovulated late, then maybe you aren’t even due yet!

    • kimc adds her thoughts::

      Kacie,
      It was based on my LMP, but I was regular at that point and usually have a pretty good idea of when I ovulate. The doubt is actually because I didn’t write down my LMP and by the time I was sure I was pregnant, I had try to remember exactly when it was. I narrowed it down to plus or minus 1 week.

  13. Sadie adds her thoughts::

    My mom said I was born eighteen days late. My family has never gotten a sonogram (I am not sure how to spell that right) except for when the baby needed it. But we all know the suspense it brings you! I hope he\she comes soon!

  14. freida adds her thoughts::

    But due dates based on the LMP are 2 weeks before ovulation, right? So, you could go to 42 weeks and still not be overdue?

    • kimc adds her thoughts::

      Freida,
      Those 2 weeks are taken into account when calculating the duedate. Human gestation is actually only 38 weeks, but we count 40 from the LMP because that makes a good starting point for most women.
