I added the option to vote more than once, so that more than one person per household can vote.  I also added nectarines and raspberries as answers. Have fun!

Alrighty!  This week I’ve been craving fruit like crazy! Maybe it’s just a feeling of doom as the summer months come to a close and less fruits are in season.  But it’s not all bad because things like hot chocolate and chai tea are pleasant instead of torture meant to burn you from inside out.

So, I will now share and feed my cravings by making you all think of your favorite fruits!

What's your favorite fruit?

I don’t think I could ever get tired of watermelon, but I really love blueberries and (if you can find a good one) peaches are heavenly.

  1. Bernie Morgan says:

Raspberries, even though it’s not on the list. And Passionfruit.

Kiwifruit (gotta add the fruit bit, otherwise you could be eating a bird!) from your list.

  2. Phew… that was hard. I LOVE fruit. And yep, you forgot raspberries and blackberries. Yum. I could have voted for most of those… but I went with strawberries. However, I probably would have went with blackberries if it had been on the list. Or raspberries. Then again, depending on my mood… I could have gone with blueberries, watermelon, kiwifruit, or grapes. Oh yum. Fruit… such a wonderful food group!

  3. Nectarines! (And that wasn’t long enough so I’ll add – MMmmmmm.)

  4. I went with apples, because they are so versatile. Applesauce, apple cider, apple butter, spiced apples, apple pie, apple crisp. . . I could go on.

  5. Well Raspberries are my absolute favorite but they weren’t on the list so I picked my second favorite- watermelon.

  6. Picking just one was SO hard! I went with cantaloupe because I could easily eat a whole melon (cantaloupe, honeydew, etc.) every day all summer and not get sick of it. In fact, I almost did that one summer.

  7. Oh, I love everything on the list. Well, that’s probably because I love fruit. My favorite MUST be plums, though. I love everything about them. The bitter-sour-sweet taste, the texture, the smooth skin, the colors (THE COLORS!!!) I love plum color plus that yellowy-green shade of its pulp. It’s my dream room colors.

  8. that is a hard question! I just wanted to vote for all of them!

  9. I find it nearly impossible to choose a favorite! They are all wonderful! I also would add fresh raspberries, pineapple & nectarines to the list. Yummers! Your post has made me think about what an incredible variety our God has created for us…. and these are just typical fruits that we have available in the U.S. Wouldn’t it be fun to sample fruits from around the world? I’d like to taste the rare mangosteen!

  10. I’m sure I’d love berries much more, if I weren’t allergic to them :P . Apples are also delicious, but it’s hard to find tasty apples in Florida. I stick to what’s local: bananas, mangos, papayas, that sort of thing.

  11. Pears! Especially winter pears that have been canned with a little bit of cinnamon. My favourite, definitely. But I must add that I love every other option, too.

  12. This was a tough one since I’m a fruit-aholic…I really don’t think I could decide between raspberries, nectarines and mandarin/Satsuma oranges (all that are not on the poll list).

  13. CHERRIES not on the list so I can’t vote

  14. Frozen grapes are better than candy! ;D But Watermelon is just as good…….

  15. What about tangerines? Mandarinas, satsumas, whatever you call them, they are delicious!

  16. CHERRIES! yum :)

  17. Roxie Meiske says:

Yesterday while in Sam’s club I got a sample of a ‘new’ fruit…it was a cross between a pear and an apple. WOW. It was so good. Sweet and crunchy…The only ‘problem’ was the cost…6 pieces were $6.00…so a little too expensive.

  18. Oooh…I agree with Roxie – Pear Apples (or Asian Pears) are The Best, as long as they’re fresh – soft ones aren’t that good. I’m usually willing to spend the $$ on them if I have plenty of other fruit on hand and know the kids won’t gobble them in one day. (And I admit to sometimes hiding them, too…with no guilt about it!)

  19. We’re pretty privileged aren’t we, Kim? To live so near a place where we can actually get amazing peaches. They’ve always been my favorite fruit but more so once I moved here and had a Fredericksburg peach.

  20. There was not an “ALL of these!!!!!” button…but I made do. ;-) I have been craving good peaches for months but alas, ours here in NC were just not that good this summer.

  21. we get peaches from a southern state (we need to in WI) so they are sometimes so juicy it runs down to your elbows! I LOVE PEACHES! I just finished helping mom can 2 1/2 (I think, maybe just 2) bushels of them! I did all the pealing, and I got to eat some as I went!

  22. I must say Apricots are way tastier in Europe than in North America !

  23. PINEAPPLE is actually my real fav. but it wasn’t an option. :-)

  24. I went with cantalope but honestly its hard to pick when pregnant…now I want to go to the store and raid the fruits!

  25. Umm, where’s the all of the above button? :)
This summer we enjoyed our own homegrown strawberries and our friends’ blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries! We froze a bunch of them to add to yogurt and make smoothies. Next summer we’ll try making our own jam! Now that fall is coming my girls can’t wait to go apple picking! Apple pies, apple crisp, baked apples, hot apples, apple cider, apple butter… yum!!! Okay, I can’t wait to go apple picking, either!

  26. I couldn’t believe that Strawberries are top on the list!!!

  27. You forgot cherries! That’s the thing with fruit; there are so many options.

  28. Cherries. Especially after I designed a coat of arms for my homeschool graduation and discovered that they represented a good education!

  29. I voted strawberries, but that’s only because I’ve lived in Europe where the strawberries are better than ice cream.

  30. cherries – you forgot cherries

  31. It was hard to pick just one, but fun to see which fruit is winning!

@mama olive’s comment: Strawberries that are better than ice cream? They be good!

  32. Lol, that was supposed to say they MUST be good! Not “they be good”!
