I’ve had this topic on my mind lately… even to the point of considering knocking down the wall between the living room and kitchen to join the two main areas of our home. I had shelved the idea of that costly renovation wondering if it was too radical.
I think we would enjoy #6. Our little one is just 8 months old so we still have a bible reading time with her and then separate time with my husband and I but I know eventually we would like to have a family worship of some sort – I just don’t know what it will look like.

I would love to hear so many of these messages, but right now, I would especially love to hear “How to wage war on sibling rivalry” ; my oldest was once totally enamored with his sister…and now somedays, there isn’t even an ounce of compassion towards her ( not that she hasn’t made it hard for him to be loving now and again…). I feel like raising these kids to love and support one another is my biggest “generation” goal for my family, since there is this awful legacy of sibling rivalry on both sides

What a terrific giveaway! I received their email about this and watched Doug and Beall’s cute little video telling about it, but I couldn’t even begin to consider actually subscribing. Gary and I could probably make our own informative vids about some of these topics (as if we’d have time), but those last two…okay, so I know “How to Take a Road Trip” isn’t going to answer the question, “Why has it been over ten years since we took a family vacation and how can we pull one off this year?” but still. All of the topics catch my eye. I might be speaking out of turn here since we have not been blessed with any children yet, but we have the quiverful mindset and we want to be as prepared as possible.
The most intriguing one to me right now is the one addressing miscarriage. I had a miscarriage in the fall six months after my husband and I felt convicted about being on birth control (largely due to my reading your blog for 4+ years – and I say that with gratitude). While I firmly believe it has given me even more of a testimony to others and why they should not “plan” their family, I already wonder what it will be like to talk to my *hopefully* future children about it. I know in my heart I will always consider the child I lost to be my first.
I want #12 the most.
Our most helpful message would have to be “How to Make Mealtime Meaningful”. From what I understand it talks a little about table manners. We really NEED this one because my youngest child doesn’t understand why you should have to put down your drink to pick up your fork. And my sons agree!

But the main reason I wanted to comment is because I FOUND YOUR BLOG AGAIN! Seriously, you have NO idea how excited I am about this! I used to follow you three years ago while I was awaiting the birth of my first child and then somehow lost your blog address and never could find it again. I have 8 children – my oldest is a girl (23yrs) and my youngest (18mo) In the middle of my (only, then) daughter’s teen years, God began changing our hearts towards a more feminine attitude for me and her – it was a tough transition at the time. How to Wage War on Sibling Rivalry is one of the topics that interests me the most because it was such an issue in our family growing up. I live with a full house now, and even though I’m not a mom (yet), I want to be able to handle issues and protray Godliness in the way I live with my family right now.

Meaningful mealtimes–homeschooling, we eat together three times a day. Plus 7 kids from 14 to 10 months. We generally aim for fewer than 3 people talking at a time, and try to keep the little ones to a low roar. We would like tips on aiming higher than this!

Most assuredly the “jive talk” would be the MOST useful for us. The kids have certainly picked up a lot of slang from ME, but they have a lovely way of twisting it into ugliness and insults, so learning not only how to break the habit myself, but help un-training my kids in this sarcastic area of our lives would be helpful.
I think ‘How to Handle a Social Worker Visit’ would be most useful to my husband and I. We would like to follow my parents example of adoption, and although I’ve seen them go through multiple social worker visits, being on the parental end would be totally different! I’m excited about all these messages though!
