This giveaway has ended. The winner was Kate McKinney!
This week’s giveaway is baby themed for a very good reason, and I’m celebrating that reason with a round-up of some of my past baby posts:
- All About Parker – Parker’s first birthday post, with updates on his development, personality and lots of photos.
- Sleep? What’s that? – In which I desperately long for sleep.
- Sleep training: a 10 day log – In which I futilely try to get a full night’s sleep.
- Car seat training – In which I enjoy rather more success, though I don’t get any more sleep than before.
- 13 uses for receiving blankets – Because I never knew what to do with all those receiving blankets, and maybe others shared my bewilderment.
- Something fun and crazy that happened to me when I was expecting our first boy after 7 girls.
- Two related polls about how early and how late your babies have started walking.
- Video posts highlighting my crazy crawlers, Bethany and Perry. Parker did it too, but we must have forgotten to get him on video.
- Sleeping babies Q & A, because before Parker came along I was really good at this.
- Birth stories, which make up an entire category.
- And finally, the fun way we announced a new pregnancy to the kids, long ago when we were expecting #8.
So…do you know why I chose this particular theme for this week’s giveaway? Did you spot any of the clues I planted over the past week? Or were you already on our mailing list, so you got The Newsletter?
THE GIVEAWAY
We’re going to choose one winner to receive Babies, Adoption, and Family Logistics, 24 audio messages from the 2010 Baby Conference!
As always, there are several ways to enter. Remember to leave a separate comment for each entry!
- Leave a comment on this post.
- Leave a second comment on this post about a clue or hint that you spotted. This entry will only count if you’re the first to mention that particular clue, so be as specific as possible, and please mention just one clue to leave more chances for others.
- Post about this giveaway on facebook, twitter, and/or your blog. Each counts as a separate entry.
- Post about your favorite Vision Forum product on facebook and/or your blog.
- Like Vision Forum on Facebook.
- Use the little Facebook button to recommend Babies, Adoption and Family Logistics to your FB friends.
I’ll take entries until next Friday, then choose a random winner. Unless I’m too busy throwing up by then. In that case, I’ll be busy taking this advice.

One of the clue’s I noticed was when you said “on my midwife’s advice” in your post “Adrenal Update.” Does that count as a clue???
Okay, I put my “clue” comment first to make sure I got it in
, so here’s my “regular” comment on the post. Congratulations! This is so exciting- I know you, Perry, and the kids are thrilled!

Hey Kim,
Congratulations! I get your newsletter so I was “in” the know, but I will say it again!
(I already have the give away items so don’t include me in your drawing.)
I don’t recall if you mentioned in the newsletter how far along your pregnancy is? Do you find out boy/girl while pregnant? Isn’t this a lot of questions?
Congratulations to the whole Life in a Shoe family!

I have often wondered if God has adoption in mind for our family and would be very interested in hearing this. Please enter me and thank you for hosting!

Ha I read it in your newsletter. Congratulations!!!
Thanks for the chance!
Congratulations, Kim! How exciting! I just love when like-minded Christians have babies. Praise the Lord for precious covenant children (even if they do make us tired, nauseous, and pukey for the first couple months of their lives
Congrats. I am really excited for you, and I really guessed when you posted about the “adrenal fatigue” a few weeks ago–before the newsletter post.
Congrats! I have been reading your blog for a while now. And its so exciting to see you are expecting!
Congratulations! I spotted the preggo icon at the bottom right a few days ago.
Loved how true you are about sleep deprivation and raising littles! Keep up the good work!
I found the Pregnanacy Ticker! Congrats!!! I bet your hubby and the kids are SUPER excited!
Congratulations! I received your news letter, but was unable to read all it. I think one of your clues was your posting on FB different bean recipes.
Congratulations! I got the newsletter and so was in “the know”.
So happy for you. Would love to win this as my husband and I are prayerfully discerning adoption to grow our family.
God bless!
Clara, take a plane ride next to my husband. Last Wednesday (2/15) he flew to NJ and back in 1 day to adopt our 6th child (she’s 11)(6th adoption). On the way back he started talking to the lady next to him. She didn’t know he had just picked up our dd. She said that she and her husband were praying trying to discern if God wanted them to adopt. They had an 11yo from adoption 9 years ago and are missionaries. Then John spilled it, why he was on the flight. Be blessed on your journey…it isn’t always easy, but it’s always rewarding.
I guessed right!
Congrats!
I don’t want to enter the giveaway…my baby days are over! I’m so excited for y’all. I thought you might be, given one of Connie’s post a while back. (I think it was Connie, she said something about moms expecting.) So how far along are you?
Congratulations!

The clue that made me wonder was when you said you’d been pregnant or nursing and that your spacing was about 2 years now…and before this you’d always been saying that this is the longest you hadn’t been pregnant…made me think there might be some news coming!
Heather
The clue I found was the “Did you find the secret yet?” banner on the sidelines of your blog, right above the book advertisement.
Congratulations!! Awesome news
.
Yay! Congrats on the pregnancy! I just recently found your blog and it has been such an inspiration to me!

kim! It’s been a while since I commented on your blog. The news of your pregnancy is just too happy to NOT comment on!!
Congratulations! I know you all are totally excited. I look forward to following this latest pregnancy along with everyone else!
I noticed the devotion on your sidebar, “When Motherhood is Too Hard”. It look intriguing. Have you read it? I think I’d like to. It sounds right up my alley. Maybe, if you haven’t already, you can post a review and commentary on it??
Anyway, take care, rest, and God Bless you abundantly!!
I have the pdf version but my phone won’t format it properly so I have to wait for some computer time. I do plan to post about it once I’ve read some.
Well, congratulations seem to be in order! The concept of a Baker’s Dozen seems to be long forgotten so I am so happy to see you bringing it back in to fashion!
I saw a clue from a comment when someone mentioned that they thought might be pregnant because you had your midwife prescribe you the adrenal fatigue supplement, because you didn’t say you WEREN’T pregnant! =) This still makes me happy.

Hi, Kim! I had been wondering with your symptoms if you weren’t feeling pregnant (I knew I was pregnant -every time (I’ve had 9 pregnancies)- a week and half before I could even test because I feel so gross when I’m pregnant!). Congratulations!!! I’d love a copy of this… God is moving mountains for us to pursue adoption finally, so I’m especially interested in those messages. I already like Vision Forum on Facebook, so I guess that’s out.
Oh! and I knew you were pregnant for sure because of the link to the bean cure… I remember reading your success with that last time and I tried it, too… thanks!!!

I knew from your news letter but as my daughter is just younger than Parker I thought it was “time” for you to be expecting for awhile.
My husband and I are just beginning our adoption journey. Would love to listen to these audio messages. Thanks for the give away.
Thanks for a wonderful giveaway!
Yay, Kim! And great giveaway – I’ve been wanting this.
Also, I get the newsletter, so…wink wink.
Congratulations!!!!
My first clue was Smockity’s wild hinting over the past few days.
And I forgot to comment to get my entry #1! Oops. So there’s my 1st comment. Congratulations. (I already commented with a clue I found)
Such wonderful news. I receive your newsletter so I knew in advance. So glad your sharing it with the world. Look forward to more posts.
I have only just settle the quiverful mindset recently, and am looking for all the encouragement I can get, as I had a blood clot with my last baby and that has made me anxious about being pregnant again, though I want to be.
I love vision forum’s audio teaching the wise woman’s guide to blessing her husband’s vision. Very good material!
I am getting ready to post at my blog:)
I would love to be entered. And congratulations!
I just found the ticker at the bottom of the page. Was that a clue or did you recently add it?
Ok, I don’t think anyone has mentioned this clue yet, Kim, but there were many of us who knew you were pregnant way back at Christmastime. Remember? We KNEW you were pregnant even before you really were pregnant. I think I should win this giveaway immediately on the basis of that alone. Such foreknowledge and wisdom ought to be rewarded. Ok, I’ll settle for a Marie-Madeline skirt. You know, one of their denim style ones. No, really, I’m just kidding. Seriously, I’m only joking…unless…of course …you’d want to take me up on it…then I could be very ernest indeed. Merely jesting. Just because you bloggingly neglected us in December when WE knew you were pre-pregnant, is no reason for me to even think how well a Below the Knee Length Street Fair Skirt would smarten up my spring wardrobe. No reason at all. Not when a Grandpa Jakes Campfire Cooker would fit in SO WELL with our backyard camp out sessions this summer….
Hi Kim
.Great giveaway too,it looks awesome.
Big Congratulations to the whole family!!I get your emails so I was in the know

Finally I can say Congratulations! I wasn’t sure after getting the newsletter I kept thinking, maybe I am just reading more into your posts because I know or are you really giving it away in little ways? LOL.
OH, I forgot to add, I kept looking for your to change your header picture to a 13 instead of a 12, ha I thought that would be the funniest way to announce it, you know see how long it took for someone to spot it. heehee
Congratulations ! Our family would benefit from this teaching ! We enjoy listening most when we travel.
I have been thinking a TON about bile, gallbladders and pregnancy. (Being a midwife, pregnant, STRONG family history of women having gallbladders removed at my age, gallbladder pain, and a willingness to be a lab rat
I have felt the best this pregnancy (#6) eating a low fat vegan diet. I have not enjoyed it and would only suggest it as a way to keep a failing gallbladder but for some one that feels better with beans possibly due to “flushing” bile I would suggest 3 things 1) Eat Apples and Steamed Kale those are the two bile removing super foods. 2) Avoid fatty foods (so much easier said then done) 3) Start taking liver glow mommy formula from mountain meadow herbs 1-2x daily. Mostly I think beans just help for fiber reasons, a comment someone else made 2 years ago
You have had a few babies though, which is one of the things that makes a gallbladder unhappy. Possibly helpful…Mostly VERY congratulations on your new baby coming next fall! All the best, I hope you have energy and nausea free days one after another.
Thank you for writing your lovely blog. I really enjoy reading it.
Grace, thanks for the advice. I tend to eat a lot of veggies, especially in the summer, and I definitely think I have bile issues during pregnancy – that’s always what I throw up. TMI? I’ve never had any other reason to suspect gall bladder trouble, though I’d be the first to admit I don’t even know what to look for.
Wow Congrats!! So excited for you! Would love to have this book. I’m an adoptee and have adopted a son!! Also have 4 other children, and we are hoping to adopt more.

Many congratulations for being tired and nauseated! I hope your energy returns with the next trimester! Isn’t this the best way to gain weight?!?
Much love in Christ for you and your family!
Congratulations. I’m so happy for you. I got the clue when you wrote in your newsletter-advertising: Get our newsletter to see when we’re expecting (or words to that effect) already on the 12th of January
I can’t win anything though, I live in Europe
Wonderful News! I thought this would be almost time for another bundle of joy for you and the family! I was right! God bless and may you have a joyful pregnancy!

What a great giveaway!
Would LOVE to win this!!
Oh so that’s what “The Bump” thing on the bottom of your blog is, congratulations!
I know you are exited.
My mom met a lady who had her 10th baby and they named her Halleluiah Joy because they where so happy to have 10! (Hallie for short.)
What a great name, and a perfect nickname!
The first clue I noticed about your pregnancy was when Connie at Smockity frocks mentioned something about 35+ children. She didn’t say much more then that even though many seemed to be curious about who! Congrats!
