About a month ago, my husband stepped off to talk with a friend and was mysteriously unaccounted for during the a good part of the afternoon. It seems he’s been up to no good. I hope you won’t be too scandalized. He’s a family man with obligations. Times are hard, and we all do what we have to do.
But maybe you’re not scandalized. Maybe you see things a little differently, or at least you recognize there may be some validity to an alternative view. Maybe you’ll also be interested in Vision Forum’s upcoming conference, The Reformation of Food & the Family.
You do it three times a day, seven days a week and fifty-two weeks a year. If you live to be 85 years of age, you will experience it more than 90,000 times. It is called food, and it was designed by God as the fuel of life. But to describe food merely as fuel falls short of the depth and breadth of the biblical message. Frankly, there are few subjects which are addressed as often in the Bible as food. Hundreds, if not thousands of Scripture verses, incorporate various types of food, directions about food and spiritual lessons in which food is an element.
The conference will be July 12-14 in San Antonio, TX. Who wants to go? Who wants to win a free family pass?!

We’ve been doing more whole food, trying to move away from the packaged, for a few years now. I would love to bring our kids so they can learn more, that it isn’t just me telling them something.

This would be so neat! We have a certified organic farm that we started when we moved to a bigger piece of land to fulfill a bigger vision about two years ago! My husband and I would LOVE to go to this conference, but the price is a little much for us! We have a passion for feeding our little family(two children) nurturing wholesome food (Weston A. Price anyone?) and we love discussing sustainable agriculture, truly organic food, permaculture, and being wise stewards of our bodies and our land! It would be great to get new ideas and to discuss food and family with others! I really want to hear more about the Bible and our food! Even if we don’t get the free family pass, I hope we can get the audio of the conference, or borrow it from a friend that may get it! Thank you for hosting this giveaway! I’m excited even for someone else to have the unexpected opportunity to go!

I would like to go to learn more about a Christian worldview on food and the future of food. I believe in being a good steward of my body and of the earth. I am also interested in meaningful mealtime practices and hospitality.

We would love to attend! I would really like to hear The Art of Hospitality talk, as the Lord has been blessing our home with visitors over the last several years, and it’s such a wonderful way to bless others!

I think it would be neat to learn about healthy food!
I would love to learn about wholesome foods and how it ties into the bible!
I’d love to attend this conference because there’s so much conflicting information about food these days.
We all want to eat healthy, but what is really “healthy”.
I know the Bible has a lot to say about food but I’ve heard so much conflicting advice over the years that I’m curious about this conference and it’s focus.
The video was so funny! This would be a great opportunity for our family.
I would love to learn more about food from a Christian point of view.

We’ve never been to a Vision Forum conference, and this one is right up our alley. We have a diversified family farm that offers cow-shares for people desiring raw milk, grass-fed beef, pork, chicken, turkey. We’d love to hear what is presented. Thanks. http://www.BartlettFarm.us.
I would love to go! My friends are going but we can’t afford to go. We have never been to a Christian conference before much less a Vision Forum one. I heard the Duggars are going to speak there and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to hear them speak and maybe meet them as well.
We have 4 little boys ages 5 and under and are expecting #5. This would be such a blessing to our family!
PS I shared this on Facebook!
I would live to attend the food conference because I want to fellowship with like minde believers and to see the different aspects to the big food debates out there. Plus some ladies from My church are going & I want to too
Oh, the irony that is America. Guns are in, milk is out.
Conference sounds wonderful, don’t think I can make it to Texas though. Have fun!
We want to attend this conference for so many reasons on so many levels. Say NO to GMO, eat organic and make friends with other like minded folks. We only live in Missouri, and have a large family so we could make it except for the cost! We would love to win!
My family and I would love to learn more about food from a biblical perspective. We would also be very blessed by the like minded fellowship.

I have been dreaming about being able to go to this conference! It would be a great educational weekend because we are totally foodies….. even though we all appreciate different things, my husbands specialty is fried mac n’ cheese for breakfast, I would prefer anything with oats.
) We would really enjoy going and listening, learning and and being with all the other believers. It would be a great time!

I also shared this giveaway on fb….. thanks.

We have never been to a Vision Forum conference before, but usually buy the cds. It would be nice to hear the messages with other like minded families and, of course, we’d HAVE to sacrifice and sample some of the goodies!
Thanks for the opportunity!
Oh! I sooooo want to go to this. I have been begging my husband. Seems we can’t really afford to go. We just had to pay for a new transmission on his car.
Thanks for a chance to win.
My husband and I feel like God has been leading us in a direction that would make our family live a more self sustaining lifestyle. We are still active military for the time being but we have started with the things we can: growing a garden through a community garden plot, recycling and reusing items so that we are good stewards of all God has provided for us, and so forth. We have not purchased a ticket to the conference because we can’t afford the money it costs for the ticket and the money for travel from NC. If we won the ticket, then traveling costs could probably be worked out. Thanks for the opportunity to try and make it to the conference!
I liked conference on facebook – excited about others sharing vision for healthy ( God made ) food!
I would love to go to the conference to learn more about how to feed and educate our children about nutrition.
Our family would love to go to the conference! Over the past several months we have been changing our way of eating to more whole foods. The information we would learn would surely help us. Thank you for this chance.
Dear KittyKait,
It is to be hoped that this finds you and yours well. It is also to be hoped that nothing untoward has occurred so as to prevent you from posting your Sunday photographs. They have been most appreciated and quite enjoyable.
Sincerely yours,
Jamie
Excuse me, “Kittykait”.
P.S. Please give my best regards to your mother. I trust she is feeling rested today.
I saw this video at Vision Forum and I loved it! I couldn’t figure out the “illegal” part til I saw the jug. Here, in Washington, we can get raw milk with a lot of Health Department interference. I was in Oregon recently, where I could not get my “fix” at the local Co-op grocery. I should have guessed it was milk. I would be a criminal if I lived elsewhere. I only want raw milk. It’s a great topic and a very clever video.
I’ll be going and am very much looking forward to it! My father is delivering two of the Keynotes and I already know they’ll be great because I read his speeches!
Make time in your schedule/budget – it’s going to be pretty fantastic! Great line-up of speakers! I’m eager to hear all the different perspectives, and anticipate a lot of healthy debate.

I would love to attend the conference and learn more about eating healthy, feeding a large family and what the Bible says about food! We haven’t been to SA since 2010 when we attended the Baby Conference and the Film Festival all in one year.
Liked the conference on Facebook.
I shared your giveaway on Facebook.
I would love to attend the conference for many reasons. First as a pleasant break to my hard working family. Secondly, my son hopes to have a large property on which to help house single homeschooling mothers and have space for them to raise their own food. Thirdly, we are always interested in learning more about healthy food choices, and we love to cook. My daughter has also studied French for several years. Fourthly, we have wished for quite a while to be able to attend a Vision Forum event and visit San Antonio.

I wish we could afford to travel that far if we won the giveaway but we wont that quickly. I just wanted to chime in and say that it makes me so happy to see a Christian organization talking about this subject.
I once had a pastor that always said, “And after service we will do what we Baptist do best– EAT”. I always thought, “Really? Our lard and grease and genetically modified junk is what we do best? Not loving Jesus & showing Him to others?” Anyway, I know he didn’t mean any of that by it but I just always thought it was crazy the church doesn’t “go there” about food.
I would love to learn how to grow good healthy food and how to raise our family on a farm since we are soon to move to take over my Dh’s grandparents farm. We are city folk without an ounce of farm folk in us.

I have never been able to go to any of the Vision Forum events yet, so I would be thrilled to go. I think the part I would be most interested in is health from a biblical perspective. There are so many theories and beliefs out there, but once we know what has been revealed by God we can separate truth from temporary fads.

I need to go to that conference to learn more about what my family and I eat!
I want to go to learn the theology behind food; and also listen to Bill Potter talk about the history of food.

This is SO awesome!!!! I knew there was a reason I have bought my tickets yet. I was on fire for this conference every since I read the ad in the Vision Forum catalog last November. This is SO inline with all that God has shone more over the past few years and the radical transformation we have made with food.
Still don’t know how this mama of 7 is going to pull this off but I KNOW God has NOT shut the door! As much as I long to GO I have tried to talk myself out of it and it simply won’t go away, besides this Chicagoin has never been to Texas before!
This will be one more piece in the mosaic that will equip, enrich, & fill me to go out and LIVE and exceedingly excellent life in Christ!!!!!!
Gosh, now ya got me even more excited!
Blessings,
Carolyne

My husband and I would love to take our family! We are learning more and more each day about real food and the benefits of it and are desiring to make a complete lifestyle change once and for all.

I shared on FB. I really pray that we’ll be able to go!!!
Mark and I had planned to do this as a family gift for Christmas this year, but this pregnancy put a damper on our plans. Traveling that far within 5 weeks of my due date just didn’t seem wise.
Hope you have a great time!
We would LOVE to go to the conference. We want to learn more about farming on our own, saving $$ cooking meals and losing weight. I know this conference would be a HUGE springboard for us as a family into good things.
