This week Natalie wore a polka dot shirt and a skirt with little flowers, I think this is one case where two patterns work rather well. Her bright blue Converse add a nice splash of color.
Megan borrowed a dress from Lydia (as usual).

I wore a kind of wacky outfit today. I put one of my favorite blue dresses under my very favorite super stripey skirt, with a black belt at the waist to pull it together.

Do your kids usually dress up for church? I don’t attend regularly as an adult, but when I was a kid I was super into fashion and putting together my own ensembles in general. My mom had a rule that we weren’t allowed to wear shorts or baseball caps to church, but otherwise any clean school clothes were fine (of course I always wanted to were baseball caps and shorts MOST on Sundays!). I think when I was older she finally relented on the “no shorts” rule, especially during hot summers, but generally, as a teenager I preferred to wear something more polished anyway–usually a pair of my nicer jeans, a dress shirt, and those chunky heels that everybody wore in the 90s.

The girls and women in our family usually wear skirts or dresses when we leave the house, so dressing up a little for church comes easily.
I just try to make sure their clothes are clean and not too worn. Of course, as they get older they take more interest in looking nice.
You don’t really wear Converse tennis shoes to church do you? Besides that I dig all the dresses and skirts. I’ve noticed that it has become really trendy this season to wear all kinds of summer dresses and skirts, including full length maxi dresses. Makes ya glad to be a girl. I’m used to wearing alot of capri’s and jeans, but if I had some extra money I’d totally go out and buy some dresses and skirts and look as cute as you!

Sheila, we all (except Kim) wear our Chucks to church on a regular basis. In fact I have a brown pair of low cut Converse Chuck Taylors that I only wear at church. Mind you I wear boots, and dress shows too but we love our Chucks!
