Well, this week PerryBoy wasn’t feeling well. Since my ear was still bothering me, I jumped at the chance to stay home. On the bright side, some intensive irrigation and hydrogen peroxide therapy finally cleared the blockage and the infection seems to be gone or nearly gone. It’s a good feeling!
While the rest of the family was at church, I admired my new water kefir…
…and my old kombucha. I think of them as pets. Is that weird? They’re alive and growing, after all.
PerryBoy and I talked about people who are created in the image of a Creator, and therefore have the desire and ability to create. We talked about how that desire is shown in art, in architecture, and even in our love of children. Would you believe he brought the subject up? While drawing dinosaurs with a green crayon. I love that kid. We talked politics too.
I also added some much-needed updates to my blog’s About page, thanks to a reminder from a kind reader.
When the rest of the family got home from church, Parker ran into the house and showed me his snails.
One is a grandma, and the other is a boy. I don’t know how he knows, but he’s sure of it.
Calvin was dorkin’ it up today in his Sunday go-to-meeting clothes: shorts, suspenders, and boots. The boy’s got style.
Kaitlyn dressed up for church, but slipped into something more comfortable when she got home. Just for the record, I have no idea where these pajamas came from and we all think they’re hilarious. Really. We haven’t quite reached that level of weirdness.
Later in the evening Perry and I slipped out to run a few errands and have a date. Several of the kids went to bed early saying they didn’t feel well. I hope PerryBoy’s headache doesn’t turn out to be the first symptom of a new epidemic in our house. It’s been quite a while since we were sick, but today I had four people complain of headaches and ask me to feel their foreheads for fevers. That seems like a bad sign, but they all passed inspection. We’ll see what the morning brings.
