30 Days of Thanks, Day 22: Pre-scratched cars

I’m thankful today that when this kid…

she didn’t leave any marks.  At least, none that we could spot.  That could be because they were camouflaged in all the marks that were already there.  Be that as it may, it made me feel a little better about the whole incident.

I’m thankful our cars are not in perfect condition, so I don’t feel the temptation to stress over the inevitable wear-and-tear , or the occasional lapse of sentient thought.

I’m pretty sure Bethany and I are both thankful.

  1. My husband and I are always thankful (well…sort of…) when “our” new, shiny stuff gets marred by the children or the guests who bless our home. Then we can let go of our emotional attachment to it, laugh and say, “Now it’s the Lord’s!” I remember when we had a new couch (which is a rare luxury in our house) and a guest spilled a whole mug of dark tea all over the cushions. We called that its “baptism.” 🙂

Don't just think it: say it!
