I love bugs. But most of all I love praying mantids! Here is a picture of me and a female. I can tell it’s a female because I found her and 1/2 of her mate on her back and now she is carrying an egg case! The picture on the left is the praying mantis on my face and the picture on the right is the praying mantis on my hand. I am going to tell you a story about a very very ill mantis I found:
One fine morning I was just minding my own business when my sister Megan brought me a dead praying mantis. Or so she thought. I was showing my mom, and then it kicked its leg!
I got a little bottle cap and put a dab of milk in it. Then I fed the milk to the praying mantis by dabbing my finger in the milk, and touching the mantis’s face.
While I was feeding it, it was clinging to my fingers with its little poker-thingies that it grabs its food with. I fed it for a little while, then I got a piece of cloth and laid it on a little bug bed, and made it a Get Well Soon card. Really, I did.
We went to some friends’ house. When we got back, I discovered a tragic event. The praying mantis (sniff) was dead.
I flushed it down the toilet as I sang Amazing Grace.

PS. I promise this is a true story.

My Dad sent me an email requesting that I write a story about one of our neighbors. These are my favorite memories of her. Her name was Betty. She was about 76.

When I was about 4 or 5 my sisters and I used to ask Miss Betty if we could come in her house and she would always tell us to ask Mom so we would ask and she would usually say yes. So we went back over and told her. She let us in and she always gave us those suckers with gum inside – oh yeah, blo-pops. Then we would sit down and watch DragonTails (the cartoon) . After a while she would show us her key chain collection, give us 6-9 caramels and send us home.

I guess that’s all I remember about good old Miss Betty.

Guess what: my family is beginning a new blog! I think it’s going to be called The Green Note Pad it’s for school. Just a moment I have to turn the AC down so I’m not sitting in such a cold room…there that’s better. I will write about it when it really happens. Well I guess that’s all.

So our Aunt Linda, Uncle Ronny, and my 2 second cousins twice removed, got up at 3:00 AM and packed us a really good breakfast and we were off.
So we slept in the car from about from 5:00 AM to 7:00 AM then we ate strawberries, egg biscuits, bananas, pineapple, and I think that’s all besides the apple juice, and coffee for Mom and Dad.
After about 9 hours we got to our destination (were we stayed for a week). Everyone was very happy.
Our GPA, GMA, Aunt,and Uncle took us out to eat at Logans Roadhouse.
After that we went to their house and went to bed.
Here is a list of cool things that happened:

1.For Mom and, Dad’s anniversary, Dad rented a Mustang Convertible and I was the first kid to ride it.

2. My Aunt Abigail and Uncle Thomas saved $50 worth of fireworks for when we got there.
When they set off a 25 shot mortar and a dog grabbed it and retrieved it to its Master while it was still shooting off.
His house was getting showered with fireworks and he thought we it did on purpose I guess.
He was so mad I don’t blame him. I probably would have called the cops. So my Dad and uncle and and a couple of other guy went up the hill and calmed him down and after a few minutes they were up there laughing.

3. We went swimming.

4.We went bowling.

THE TRIP HOME:
So we woke up, said our goodbyes and left our grandma and grandpa’s house. GMA packed us a whole bunch of really fun snacks, so that was our breakfast. We sung a few psalms in the car then fell asleep.
Nothing interesting happened on the way back except when we stopped at Aunt Linda’s house.
So we got to Aunt Linda’s house ate and went to bed.
The next morning was Sunday. Instead of going to church with our Aunt Linda and Uncle Ronny, we went to church with our Aunt Yvonne, who is Aunt Linda’s sister. Afterwards we ate lunch at Aunt Gail and Uncle Bobby’s house. We had fruit salad, hamburger helper, green beans, corn, hot dogs and leftover birthday cake. Then we went back to Aunt Linda’s house to gather our backpacks.
It was raining when we got there. Aunt Linda fed us a second dinner. This time we had green beans, pot roast, and a couple more things that I can’t remember. Then we had a second dessert – banana pudding. Sooo good!
After that, we left.
When we got home it was about 10:30 PM. We unloaded most of the stuff, then we went to bed.

You can really tell they’re twins, can’t you? But you can’t really tell they’re my aunt and uncle.

On our vacation we went to Tennessee,
So all 9 of us pile up into the 8 passenger suburban… Ouch! brat! idiot! meanie! right?
That is what most people expected but no it was pretty quiet.
Every 2-3 hours something might happen but that was all, plus there were only 5 bathroom-breaks.
That’s a record for us.
We stayed the night at our Great Aunt Linda and our Great Uncle Ronny’s house.

My name is Kaitlyn Shea Coghlan (Cofflan) and I have a huge family, I am 10 years old and the second child out of 7,only girls,My Mom is the oldest out of 14!
there are only 4 boys her name is Kimberly.
My Dad is the oldest out of 6 his name is perry,
my grandmother from my Dad’s side of the family has 6 sisters also,
but my grandmother from my mom’s side of the family only has 1 sister and 1 brother.
we used to live in Ohio but we moved to Texas because my Grandma and Grandpa Brown and 15 aunts and uncles lived down here but after 2 years they moved to NY.
I am very disappointed but they moved because Grandpa got a good job offer in NY. But you know what the bible says about that it says: Rom 8:28 And we now that all things work together for good to those who love GOD, to those who are called according to his purpose.
they took the 7 who were the ages 7-16 I played with a set of twins who were 9 there names are William and Alaura.
