I’ve recently come across several videos worth sharing, and here they are both for your own viewing and for my future reference.
- A fascinating 1957 video interview of Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood, courtesy of a reader. Several of our girls had just finished George Grant’s biography of Margaret Sanger, so were very interested in seeing and hearing what she had to say for herself.
- Houdini Beagle, from my brother-in-law. Just an amazing bit of fun. Did you know a dog could do this?
- Handling a kitchen oil fire – a brief and powerful safety lesson. I knew this already, but might have forgotten in a moment of panic. Now I never will.
- Where Does Money Come From? – a long video found and posted by the Headmistress. We watched the beginning and will definitely make time to watch the rest soon.
- A series that I have not yet watched, but I trust the source and think it’s safe to assume that these will be worth our time and attention:
What you didn’t learn in Government and Economics class….. - Just one more, not technically a video, but an audio documentary on the economy that you simply must hear: Another Frightening Show About the Economy.
While we’re on the subject of the economy, I can’t resist adding a timeless quote:
The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.
Cicero – 55 BC
OK. Did you fall for it too? If you were totally wowed by the timelessness of that quote, you might want to check this link sent to me by another fine friend. I’m just glad I was in good company.
